Anything to do with Lucid dreams what I think is the most important factor in attaining and much more importantly dream control.
Well done, that's a nice achievement . I will be nearing that number too one of these days.
What do you think the most important factor is?
Congrats!
Aside from the questions you suggested, I have a couple:
1. Does attaining lucidity get easier and easier?
2. What external stimulus, if anything, works best for you to hear, see, or feel inside a dream? Such as an alarm that lasts a few seconds - just a ringing sound, or music, and for how long? Or does flashing lights or something like a vibrating cell phone work well?
I can answer Matt1's first question from the perspective of a strict WILDer: absolutely yes. When I first started doing WILD about 4 years ago it was difficult and awkward. But nowadays if I choose to WILD (and if I can get to sleep, but insomnia is another issue altogether), I can do it almost without thinking.
Congrats Eoghang; very impressive!
I have one question that I hope you'll consider: Has the quality of your conscious participation in your LD's changed or improved over the last 18 months? If so, how?
Okay, that was two questions...
Congrats! That is a lot of LDs in a very short time. Good job.
How do you deal with random DCs and events that seem designed to distract you.
Good job on so many lucids.
How did you get these. WILD or DILD or DEILD whatever. Did you do any awareness training? What about dream journaling and recall?
1. How did you begin lucid dreaming?
2. What approach did you take to become so frequent?
Thank you. :)
What lucid aids do you use if at all? How often do you use them? Do you think they were integral to your success in lucid dreaming?
If you know how to fly, I'd love some pointers. I can never seem to lift off. When I do, I can't stay in the air.
Try looking at the huge amount of suggestions here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/
The most important factor in Lucid Dreaming to me is consistency without a doubt. It is the case with everything but with LD I believe it is specially important. Everyday without fail I tell my self I am lucid dreaming (right now not that I will Lucid Dream) I then increase my awareness taking in everything. I do this everyday without fail no matter how busy I am. Confidence is also a huge factor if you believe you can Lucid Dream, that you already have a vast command of your dreams for me at least that is important I'm almost a cocky when it comes to LDing like thinking to myself "Pft I don't even have to try I know I am lucid dreaming". Hope that answers your question :).
1. I believe that if you perceive that Lucid Dreaming is easy to begin with it will get easier and easier. For me personally yes it did get a hell of lot easier but enjoy the journey more than anything honestly I remember 4 dreams a night one of which usually being a 10 to 45 minute (depending on how I'm feeling that day) I honestly could care less about if I Lucid Dream or not I know it may same ridiculous but I like normal dreams just as much so much so that even if I am aware of dreaming I sometimes sit back and let it play out it's basically a movie just for you.
2. I have never tried external stimulus but I will tell you about my internal stimulus. In my dream one of 5 characters will always appear without fail they are my dream guides I believe they all act as different parts of me for example Kari (yes named after the Kingdom Hearts character I love those games xD) she is my innocence to the world whenever she is around everything in my dream is innocent for example I could have a full conversation with a crocodile or a rattle snake because in my child hood all these animals were friendly. Sorry I like to ramble TL;DR No I don't have any experience with external stimuli. Thank you for your question hope I answered them to what you expected.
Perfect example and I commend you for mastering WILD I could not I know Sleep paralysis is normal but I couldn't get over the fear. Good answer :).
I hope I answer your question correctly I'll give it my best shot :). I wouldn't say it has improved per say it has changed a lot for example when I first started LDing I felt as a sort of outsider to my dream world like I was the monster from the abyss if that makes sense I was the alien it was interesting trying to bend the laws which a set in stone in the real world e.g creating something from nothing but they more I got into LDing the more that changed I did not want the Dream World to be a playground I wanted to be part of it and such I met my 5 dream guides who are in all my dreams I am no longer the leader of my dreams in fact sometimes I just sit down (or float cause you know why not :P) and listen to my DC give speeches or let them control the dream bring me places and show me things such as the cause of me being stuck in a rut. I hope this answers your question I don't think it did I'm sorry my English is not the greatest in the comprehending side of it.
Hello thank you for your question :). In the beginning I was like a child in a playground when events or people came along in the dream world that would try make me believe I was in waking life e.g I remember specifically one time I was flying then whack hit off a wall and woke up in my bedroom (or so I thought) my mother came in told me it's time for school I then arrived at school (it skipped to where I enter my old school didn't have breakfast or anything now days I would have noticed that) my girlfriend at the time kissed me and it all seemed normal then I noticed a glitch when I went into the bathroom and was washing my hands I didn't look like me I didn't look human (I never do in my dreams I look like monsters) and I realized I am not dreaming so I went on a killing rampage (something I would never do again) I decided to transform into a vampire I had super speed. strength, hearing, sight and instincts I craved blood and needless to say I satisfied that hunger. That was back when I started now days I am so aware in my dreams I sometimes play along with events that try to distract me act normal (while knowing I know it's a dream) just to see the whacky stuff my mind tries to pull on me sometimes. Lately though I'd say the last 20 LD I had no distractions I felt at home with my dream world I belong there just as much as I do in the real world. Hope this answers your question. :)
Like most people I started off with MILD and mantras e.g "I will wake up after every dream and remember my dream" and then I moved onto "I will wake up after my dream remember my dream and return to that dream aware I am dreaming" and this worked about one Lucid Dream every 10 days which is really good but I wanted more so I decided to "holy grail" of Lucid Dreaming WILDing I had one a week for about 2 months but I knew this technique while can be extremely powerful (specially with DEILD) it wasn't for me so I did some All Day awareness and that worked I still do it I got to about 2 lucid dreams a week after practicing for 2 months but again I wanted more so I started reading books (7 habits of highly successful people) and confidence really stuck out to me I decided that I was gonna be confident in everything I do (not just LDing) by the end of the first week I was having 4 lucids a week on average and it stayed that way and I can't be more happy :). TL;DR I tried everything but awareness and confidence is what worked best. Hope I answered your question thank you for asking :).
1.I had a really bad nightmare that was so so real about 2 years ago I won't go into details as it was personal to me but I told myself this can't be real and I screamed and everything went white and changed into a beautiful jungle forest area I realized I was dreaming and walked around for awhile it was surreal everything felt so real the trees the water was cold. Then I got killed by a brown bear and woke up you know typical Lucid Dreaming scenario :P.
2. Confidence and Awareness are the most important thing to me just tell yourself that you are LDing with full confidence and you will succeed. Lucid Dreaming isn't really hard it's as hard as you perceive it to be.
Thank you I hope I answered it correctly :).
Lucid Aids like honey and milk before bed and the binural beats ? I never used them but I hear the can be very useful but I cannot comment on them. Thank you for your question :) sorry I could not help.
The first time I tried to fly I was in my old house (in the dream world of course :P) I jumped out a window and tried to take off it didn't work I fell I got back up and told my self "NO I AM GOING TO FLY NOW" and I did took off like superman. So just be confident don't think how you are going to fly, just fly know you can do it!!. Thank you for your question :) I hope I answered it to your liking.
I thing I would like to say is that a lot of you just wanna Lucid Dream right now I know it's exciting it's almost supernatural (even though it is quite natural just a forgotten art to us western peoples) just enjoy the journey and know that if you keep it up you will get to where I am and even higher much higher two of the guys who commented on this thread have had over 2000 Lucid dreams imagine that we live for like 10898 days actually I don't know its over 11000 I dunno someone correct me but these guys have had at least 2000 days of their lives with Lucid dreams in them. Kinda amazing right ? That's like 6 years worth of lucid Dreams. So don't give up EVER. Actually Pm if you feel like giving up I won't let you (literally I will invade your dreams and terrify you :P ). Good night people.
Thanks for the detailed answers to everyone's questions, some great advice there.
Not sure if you can answer this but might as well ask!
Anyways, I've read a little about wilding but i still don't really understand how it works. Although possible, it is very unlikely and very hard to dream right when you go to sleep. On the other hand, it is very easy (well at least for me) to wild when taking a nap. I just don't understand how this works. I can take a nap 1 hour after waking, 4 hours, 8 hours, etc. and still be successful at basically wilding. But then i decide to go to sleep, and for the life of me i cannot seem to be able to wild. I can stay there for hours and nothing. Is there a reasonable explanation for this or is it all in my mind?
why is it easy to wild during a nap, but so hard before going to sleep?
You do know you are meant to WILD during wbtb, after around three or four hours of sleep. The reason we can enter a dream fast during a nap is because our body does not need to go through much Nrem sleep since it is not seeking to rest the body, just rest the mind. While during normal sleep the first few hours our body spends mostly in Nrem since it knows we are entering a long sleeping phase.
Everyday without fail I tell my self I am lucid dreaming (right now not that I will Lucid Dream) I then increase my awareness taking in everything. I do this everyday without fail no matter how busy I am
isnt this like dream yoga ? last night i had my 2nd lucid dream and the next day it was easier to keep my awareness, just like reinforcing it.
thank you
