      Dreaming during naps?

Hey I just had about a 25 minute nap, I couldn't really fall asleep so I didn't really have a full nap, but can you dream during a nap? and how much easier is it to lucid dream during a nap if you can dream during a nap and are there any different methods for that?

As far as I know, naps are almost totally REM, assuming you're napping in the middle of the day. So yes, you definitely dream during a nap. If you can get into a fairly long, deep nap you might be able to lucid dream. But many people can't do it so don't be surprised if you have trouble.

Yes, naps are a prime time for lucids, be it WILDs or DILDs. Assuming, you can fall asleep. Some people say, even afternoon nap works, but I personally had much better success with morning nap. About 1-3 hours after waking time.

If you do it, pick a different spot than your usual night time place. That way your mind will know, you are doing something else, than just falling asleep for a regular sleep.

I have had some LD's during naps... and plenty of dreams. You do not need to be in REM to dream. These are referred to as Non-REM (or NREM) dreams

thanks for the feedback! gonna try naps during the day now, I feel as if they'll increase my chances of getting a lucid dream by a lot.

I personally have the weirdest and most vivid dreams during afternoon naps. I would often get lucid because of it, plus awareness practice ofc. I don't have much time to nap lately though, but I have met a lot of people on here who have mentioned that naps give them really vivid dreams that are ideal for gaining lucidity.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Naps are normally REM (I think if they are within like 5 hours of waking they normally are).

They are great times for lucids. My first lucid was during a nap.

One of the big reasons I think is because you go to sleep for the sole purpose of lucid dreaming. This gave me the idea that I need to face every night as not going to sleep, but going to lucid dream.

My favorite time to lucid. I usually don't get LDs during the nighttime, yet. I just tried to nap too but I guess I wasn't tired enough to fall asleep. Oops That or I shouldn't have listened to hypnosis induction for sleep while I was trying to sleep...lol oops

I think you will need to take a longer nap to lucid dream though, maybe an hour or more.

I've had a lot of success becoming lucid during naps. My favorite is at school when I take a nap right after a test or something; it's a fantastic way to relax.

Naps are good, but if you are not tired enough you won't ever fall asleep. I use naps as like an added bonus for LDing since I can't use them every day. Maybe try a prolonged WBTB or just a WBTB. Wake up earlier than your normal time so that you will be tired enough to take a nap. This can backfire though, since it is good for you to be on a good, set sleeping schedule for lucidity.

Whoaaaa wait wait wait... so you're telling me that I can try to WILD in a morning or even afternoon nap? That makes it a lot easier for, since I didn't have one successful WILD so far, since I nap a lot in the morning.
