I struggled with the same "problem" for a little while, but then I said "NO I am in control and I control what is going to happen!".
And the next time I got into this dreamy state I noticed the hazyness, but had just enough awareness (for a moment) to realize that I was in control.
So then I started to look at my hands, rub them, clap them, do a summersault, backflips, you name it.. Just to ground myself in a dreambody.
It is easy to forget that we don't actually have a body in our dreams, and if we don't use one actively, how are we then supposed to control ourselves?
We use a body in the physical world to experience and control, so we should do the same in a dream.
