Weird State
I've been having a weird experience that last few mornings and I was wondering whether anyone maybe could help explain it.
Sometimes when I'm lying in bed, usually in the morning, I someimtes get lost in my thoughts. This happens a lot to me, even when I'm not trying to sleep but the odd thing is that when I'm in this state I'm aware of my body and my thoughts are nothing out of the ordinary. But if I get disturbed by something (like my dogs barking) I'll instantly forget what I was thinking about. It's like trying to remember a dream, the thought just seems gone but I know that I wasn't asleep and theres never any imagery assosiated with this state nor any sleep paralysis, vibrations or anything else except this strange amneisia.

hmmm
hmm, i'd imagine that it's exactly like forgetting a dream upon awakening...
You're slipping into a relaxed state and deeper into sleep. You're suddenly "awakened" by the noise and it makes you forget what you were thinking.
just a theory

im not really sure either. It could also be some sort of meditational state(merely guessing) or just your mind slipping into a subconcious state

Sleep can be visual or image, audio or hearing, thought or content, texture of feeling or smell or all of the above. You probably are dreaming with just thought. Any sensation that we experience wile awake can be in a dream including one or all of the senses.

Or maybe its just you holding yourself back in some way
