Is there any other time you can practice WILD without doing WBTB? I would really like to practice more, and one time a day isn't really my cup of tea. If after WBTB is the only time you can WILD then i'm going to have to live with it, but if there is anytime else I can practice, or try I would love to hear about it. I know you can WILD during naps, but its somewhat skeptic and doesn't always work. Thanks for your feedback in advance, and happy dreams :3

The only way you're going to get more than one chance a day for WILD is either with naps or trying DEILD. That way you can try several attempts each day, at least on days when you can sleep in a bit.
Ill just dive into a nap WILD right now, and see how that works out. The only problem I have with DEILD's is not being able to remember my dream when I first wake up. I can remember a dream very vividly after 30 minutes or so, but my mind is too blurry to remember a dream I just woke up from. I should really put some practice into that.
You should create a mantra to make yourself wake remembering your dreams. When I wanted to try DEILDs I wrote in my DJ before bed "I will wake after each dream, remembering the dream, lie still with eyes closed, and go back into the dream". I also repeated it as a mantra several times as I was laying in bed. It worked like a charm - for a long time after that I always was able to remember my last dream and to lie still with my eyes closed. Only once did it work to make me go back into the same dream though - or wait, twice I think. But you know - your mileage may vary. If I can do it then anybody can, I'm the never gets lucid guy.
Naps are an excelent time for lucids, be it WILDs or DILDs.
You can always try to WBTB more than once at night.
The nap WILD didn't work too well. What happened is what always happens to me every time I wild. I get to the point when my body is numb, but I don't have the SP 'weight on my chest' thing. I just feel completely numb, and I see little bits of colors behind my eyes from time to time. Thats it. I did it for about 30 minutes and thats the results I got. Seems like I need to find away to push past this point, because this is always what I get to. Anyways I will keep trying, and see what happens tonight. Happy dreams guys. :3
I actually really like that feeling. It gives me time to wake a bit and get my bearings and dream journal together while waiting for this grand movie to replay. Than it's "write like hell" to keep up with my memory!Quote:

I have heard this before, but I don't really grasp the concept. How do you 'fall asleep while staying awake' I think if I understood this it would really help me out. Can anyone explain the experience, because it seems like what I try for is making my body fall asleep and my mind stay concious, and I just came to the realization that that's not what you need to do. So yesterday, before bed I said the mantra "I will wake up at the right time, and successfully WILD". I ended up waking up at the right time, and I tried to WILD, but I got to where I always get, and decided to try it again on my side. That didn't work so I said 'it's fine, I'll try again tomorrow', and decided to go to bed. While I was trying to go to bed I just started to hear music playing, and then I get sucked into my dream. It kind of felt like I was spinning while moving really fast forward. I got in the dream, and did a nose pinch reality check, and I was lucid. It was pretty awesome, but the other amazing thing is when I woke up from that lucid. I used DEILD, and had another lucid dream. I didn't really try to DEILD, and infact I think it might have been the same lucid that just changed scenes. After those two lucid's I had one more dream where I was talking to my friends about how I became lucid in my other dreams, which was pretty ironic considering I didn't become lucid in that one lol. Thanks for all your help and tips guys. If it wasn't for you I probably wouldn't have had that awesome experience. Just wanted to type this because I had to get it out somewhere. :3

I typed that paragraph this morning and didn't give a lot of details so I have some questions. When I went to actually fall asleep and I achieved "wild" I didn't really do it how it says it should be done. I really wasn't that aware, and I was really tired, so it was like a mix of WILD and DILD, because when I got into the dream and I did a reality check I knew that I was dreaming, but it didn't really click like it should have. Now that I look back at it, all of those dreams were really blurry and the transition between the dreams was even more so. I kind of combined techniques and I got something out of it. To me it seems more of a coincidence than an actual effort. So, i'm a bit upset. In any case I will keep trying to get it clear. If lucid dreaming was an instrument, and WILD a song I had to learn. It seems like this is the first time I played the song, and I made a couple mistakes, but I will in time be able to play it by heart. Probably a bad analogy, but felt like sharing anyways. :3 Thanks for the congratulations as well. :)
The way it says it should be done - it's just a guideline. Some of them are really good to follow (like don't WILD without prior sleep). But many of them are for you to adjust, so it works the best for you.
No two attempts will be the same, but there will be some constants. So each time you attempt, whether you achieve LD or not, will be a valuable lesson and tons of fun to do.
If you know you dreaming, it's a LD. But the level of awareness and control can vary greatly. Transition will be blurry, if you start to fall asleep and lose awareness quickly, if you just barely hanging on to awareness, transition and LD will be different than when you are fully aware. It's a battle to keep awareness. :alien:
