I know I will be lucid tonight

I know I will be lucid tonight, and this is how I know:

My grandmother was a weird combination of a very rational person at times and very successful in her work (in finance) before retirement, but on the other hand she was also incredibly superstitious: black cats brought ill luck, no walking under ladders etc. I don't believe in any of her superstitions except for one: things come in threes - whether they be bad or good events. Now part of me of course knows that it is all in my interpretation: which events I choose to consider as part of the trio. One day I heard about two terrible things happening to people, and then I was releaved that the window of our car was broken by vandals because that was the third "bad thing" that day, and compared to what happened to those other people, a broken car window was really not so bad. As a result I regularly am a bit nervous waiting for the third shoe to drop. :)

So now I have two promising job interviews lined up for next week for me (which I choose to group as one - yes, I know that's fudging it, since the interviews were scheduled yesterday already, and I really should count each separately, but then I would not have one good thing left - see how that works ;) ), I had a very successful and cordial phone call with my father (something I had been putting off and dreading, but it went wonderfully well, so that's two). And thus a lucid dream tonight would be the logical third good thing to happen, right? Also as long as I am convinced that it will happen by the magic of how this works with lucid dream induction it shall, right? As I say, so mote it be, and I say lucid dream tonight!

Of course it helps, that's why I wrote this thread because now I am committed, and I would not want to disappoint myself in public. Also my memory has always been very tightly tied to writing things down.

EDIT: On a serious note, since intension and believing that it will happen are crucial elements to lucid dream induction, this method is very likely to work as long as I really believe it and do not just jest.

Does these numbers play any important role in the Lucid dreaming.

Nope, as far as I know you could lucid dream and not pay any attention to any numbers ever. The number three just happens to have more meaning for me in different ways, but that's my thing, for someone else it may be the number four, and other people may not have a number.

Even though three is definitely my number, but I would not object to another job interview, NyxCC, and in fact I could easily accommodate that with my trio grouping: I would just reinterpret the three job interviews to be their own trio. The call to my dad and the still imminent lucid dream could stay together, and I would then just need another good thing either before or after the lucid dream. So there, see it would all work out.:)

Btw, my intent either worked out: it is possible that I actually did have a lucid dream and just forgot its contents entirely. I shall change my intensions to "Tonight I will be lucid, and remember my dream." Or as mentioned in my dream journal I may not have actually been lucid, but the intension in this thread still got me pretty darn close, almost there.

Maybe you really had a lucid there, positive emotions could relate to that.

Anyways, I wish you lots of sequences of good things, including lds, interviews, and pleasant surprises! :)

It could have been lucid with ultra low awareness, sometimes those fade out from memory pretty quickly. You surely will have better recall and awareness next time~ ;)
