So I managed to get myself to lucid dream about 3-4 times a week but I never feel fully myself and controlled in my lucid dreams. I can fly or summon things in my dreams but my thoughts always seem off or disturbed. It's hard to explain, it's like being high/stoned of weed. I can't think 100% clear like the way I want to and my mind is never fully at ease.
Has anyone else had this problem before? I'm tired of being dazed, unable to think clearly in my lucids :roll:
I think I speak for pretty much all lucid dreamers when I say I've experienced this. It's completely normal - lucidity is not like a yer or no matter, it's more like you can be more or less lucid. For example in the mornings, when I'm really sleepy but nonetheless awake, I'm not very lucid at all in my waking life. My thoughts just don't work as well as they should and my brain needs to warm up. I feel this also is experienced by everyone.
In dreams, the mind is so used to switching off the logic centre of the brain that it tries to do it even after you've obtained a certain degree of lucidity. Although I have not devised a way or am not experienced enough to stop this process completely, the issue can be fixed by, immediately after becoming lucid, taking some time to stabilise the dream properly and to awaken your mind without waking yourself up. The way I do it is by doing simple multiplication like, for example, 6 x 7 or something in my head, then double checking the answer. This will effectively wake up your logical thinking and enable you to bring more of your conscious self into the dream.
You could also try remembering what you did before you went to sleep, which will also allow you to make better use of your brain's memory and remember who you are; thus increasing lucidity.

The thing is, when I WILD I enter my dream FULLY aware, I only experience this issue during DILDs/MILDs
I don't think it's a thing to do with lucidity itself, but more in that memory is not always regained fully when we get lucid, and also very often we are still affected by in-dream memory in ways. To add, i suggest writing or typing goals and other important things somewhere right before going to sleep and/or use them as mantra while falling asleep, it should not only increase chances of you remembering what to do but also should help regain more memory in general. :)
Yeah, I've heard that WILD's are much clearer and more aware than DILD's... I wouldn't know, the only lucids I've had were all DILD's, so I put a lot of effort into making them as vivid as possible and and making my mind as clear as possible in them.Quote:

Interestingly the couple of times that I took Ambien, my pre-sleep state of mind was extremely similar to one of those types of lucid dreams. My thoughts took on an illogical quality and it wasn't until after I woke up the next day that I was able to look back and realize how weird some of my thoughts were.
A lot of my lucid dreams feel like I am in a fog. As I attain more lucidity, it becomes easier, so I guess focus on becoming grounded and stabilize the dream at all costs. Touch things, realize it's a dream, and become part of it before enjoying it.
