Try giving MILD exercise a read (I've written a topic on it you can click below) it's designed to boost your prospective memory and you can always choose your own elements. Also, there's a MILD tutorial in the induction methods and techniques made by staff (can't link atm =/), so you also can find some useful information there ;)
Keep your mantra small. Some members teach a positive aformation style of mantra, with messages that are long suggesting they will remember such and such. that is reasonable and helpful, but not how I use mantras.
I will use a simple mantra. I may sing the mantra to keep it fun. I will do the mantra in my head often during the day if I am trying to MILD.
I may simply chant "Lucid Dream, Lucid Dream, Lucid Dream" in a light hearted sing song kind of rythm. Some times I sing Row Row Row Your Boat in my head, but replace almost every word with 'Dream' just using the tempo and such of the original. Honestly, like this,,, dream dream dream a dream, dream a dream a dream, lucidly lucidly lucidly, this is all a dream.
I will copy this into a new thread. We need more new threads.
@sivason
I often try to visualize that i am becoming lucid, but my visualization skills
are not that good so...
@zoth
Thanks for the link i'll try to check that out.
There are lots of ego filters blocking most messages coming through so the moment you think:
"I am lucid dreaming tonight!"
There might be some belief and filters of your ego thinking "You know that is not true. That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. It's nice you are trying..."
Well it might not be that harsh, but you get my point - Your belief and fear can block the mantra.
I think I wrote a thread about this a year ago, yupp here it is. It is a summary of Skip Atwater seminar (Director at the Monroe Institute):

It's just a theory, but if you think it is too advanced, the simple version of is the way I do it every night.
Just clear your mind from through and worries and meditate before going to sleep, and then you fall asleep in a state of tranquility and deep relaxation.
The way you fall asleep alone has a bigger impact on your night than you think. :)
Good luck and sweet dreams!
