On the verge of success with SSILD, need a nudge

I've been trying various methods lately to increase LDs that I have but haven't noticed much difference. I LD naturally now and then so its not so easy for me to measure if a technique is giving me more LDs or not.

For the last week or so I've been trying SSILD in the morning after about 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I've seen a sharp increase in number of lucids; I've had at least one lucid on each night I practiced SSILD, though I sometimes fail the method because I'm not great at getting to sleep unless I've only just woke. My main problem is that all of these lucids have been incredibly weak. Even for those that have lasted more than a couple of seconds, I don't even try and stabilise the dream and just wander mindlessly. I'm hoping someone with some experience on this method/problem has any pointers for me? I've had very few lucids lately before SSILD, could it be that I just need more time and experience with the method? This morning I was in and out of lucidity and sleep so I feel like I'm very close to getting there, I feel very inexperienced with lucids in general lately.

Another thing is about WILD. I don't intentionally aim for a WILD but if I notice myself going into one I try to stay with it, never had any luck though. This morning I was doing SSILD and was struggling to sleep after but did not move. Eventually I could feel something on my head and could hear a razor noise, the feeling I had was my hair being cut, I then started to see white figures (no detail) pass through my vision. I don't remember my body shaking, only feeling a bit disconnected from me. Then I woke again, does that sound like I was close to a WILD?

I don't understand how people can write "I FELT my hair being cut, I start to SEE white figures and I could HEAR razor noise" and still ask was I close to a WILD? I am not mocking you, I have done the misstake myself and I see people every week describing how they can't transition, but when they describe it I can see that I already have.

I mean ok it's not fully vivid or feel fully realistic perhaps, but it's an non-physical experience which could be defined as dreaming.

Why wait for a transition when your mind is already there?

I would not say you were close to a WILD, you did WILD and was in a dream focus, however you didn't realize it yourself.

Next time take a chance and explore the world you are in, if you can't move don't worry it's common I mean you don't actually have a dream body, all you got is your awareness. And since you are used to navigate in the physical world with a body it might be a good idea to imagine a body that you can use in the dream world.

Keep practising and you will realize that you have probably been transitioned more than you think.

I guess I never really thought about it like that. I've read up a bit on WILD more out of interest than anything and I've heard about the hallucinations which can occur. I know this is not the goal of a WILD but with the experience I had it felt more like this to me, which led me to think that if I was getting this, then I must be getting close to a WILD.

It looks like I'm getting things mixed up a bit, it's just that when I could see, hear and feel things while being aware of myself in bed trying to sleep I never thought of it as a dream starting, I'm just not used to it like that. Perhaps I should give WILD more attention; like I say, I've not aimed for it directly, and as such I'm not as educated about it as I could be.

Thanks for the input, these are just the nudges I need
