I've heard this mentioned before, but if I go on holiday I lucid dream - usually on the first night.
Two questions:
1) Anyone else experience this?
2) Any idea why this is the case?

Hey :)
I didn't experience this yet, but it sounds plausible. I assume that the reason might just be that all the pressure (may it be from school or work) is gone all of a sudden. And since pressure can have negative influences, I guess that this could be the main reason?
I think there is a good point to what benni is saying.
I started to try WILDing on my bedtime, which means that I relax my mind and cleanse it from negativity and stress and this gave me more DILDs so I started to monitor the way I was falling asleep more. And the days I were stressed or anxious I had stressed and hectic dreams and the days I had a calm clear mind I had calm and clear dreams and even lucidity.
But then I took a break from lucid dreaming a few weeks just because I was overdoing it big time. And I didn't experienced many lucid dreams at home while I was studying, but then I went to Croatia on vacation and was just chilling in the sun all day, eating on a nice restaurant and my mind was at peace.
And during that visit I had lucid dreams four nights out of seven.
So now when we got a theory to the main reason you can do start to implement this every night without being on holiday. ;)
I usually meditate myself to sleep :meditate:
Thanks for continuin my thought. :D Now that you say it... I haven't thought of it. It doesn't only accord with lucid dreams but also with all the other dreams. That's what I have noticed as well. Whenever I am really in thought because I have to write exams or something important/exciting is ahead, I usually remember less dreams and the dreams that I can remember are less detailed and less clear. So I guess that is similar with lucid dreams then... The more relaxed you are and the more you can free your mind from trouble and just your daily routines, the more lucid dreams you might have... I haven't been into meditation that much, but I'm sure that it can have the same effect as holidays can :D
So let's all meditate ourselves to sleep tonight! :meditate:
