Maybe you should try MILD or VILD techinque first (some people say that WILD doesn't really work in the evening, but I have experience somethin different). But I think it's all about motivation. You just have to be motivated enough and really WANT to have a lucid dream ! It's not impossible to get a lucid dream at the very first attempt (I had my first lucid dream at the same night after I first read about lucid dreaming, because I wanted to have one very badly :D ) - but if it doesn't work this time, don't lose your motivation and keep practising. :)

hey :)
As you know everyone is different so it's best that you just experiment and try to find what works best for you over time.
What I found works best for me: ADA as daytime practice, check it out here: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...kingyoshi.html
combined with MILD and WBTB. I suppose that this is quite an easy mixture of good techniques for beginners and I really enjoy practicing it. So just give it a try if it sounds good to you.
Something you can experiment with from the first night is taking a long WBTB. But you might find it difficult to get back to sleep.
Lucid Dreaming can take no effort for some people, and lots of efforts for others. Everybody is different, and everybody takes a different amount of time to get their first and then, subsequently, more. So, really, there is no shortcut, you will take however much time you take regardless of what others say. That could be a night, that could be a week, that could be a month, that could be a year and hell, it could be 8 years. BUT there is no reason why you shouldn't have your first tonight!
Read up on all the techniques, choose which one you think suits you best, which one you'd prefer to do. WILD is considered an advanced technique, if you go with that, check out Sageous' Class on WILD. DILD has it's own class, but you'd probably be better off heading over to the Intro Class and signing up there, you will get a lot of information there :)
