Was I close to a DEILD?
Heres the story (taken from my DJ):
My brother woke me up and I looked at him then said "Why'd you wake me up, I was having a really cool dream?" I stretched and put my blanket over my eyes then my arms over my face.
He got my DSi charger and left, then I immediately remember DEILD!! I quickly stay still and look at the back of my eyelids where I see a circle with a black dot in the centre getting smaller then a sort of TV static filled my sight and I thought "Wow maybe it'll work?" There were weird black orbs floating around the static. Then suddenly it all vanished for a minute so I decided to get up and I had failed... what went wrong? :?
Is it because I looked, talked, stretched? Idk because it seemed to work at first? Please help me I want to know at least if I was close or not?

In order for you to go from the waking state into the non-physical dreamworld you don't need timing or some black dot hypnagogic imagery to appear.
All you need is to be able to direct your focus of awareness to something non-physical or well "dreamy".
What I usually do, instead of waiting or looking for some weird sensation, is that I CREATE my own sensations by imagination or you could also call it DREAM CONTROL. I can for example imagine or visualize that I am holding my Iphone in my hand and if I can feel it, I know that I am in the non-physical dream focus.
Or I can imagine hearing a sound, like the voice of my friend and if I can hear it I am there. And at this point I just get out of my bed, because now I am in a non-physical version of my bedroom.
If you can't experience the imagined sensation, you are probably not focused enough on the non-physical. The good news is that if you just continue to visualize somthing non-physical then you are slowly moving your awareness more and more to the non-physical.
Think of it as a radio, you want direct the radio to the right frequency and you do this by turning the knob until the arrow is on the right frequency that you want to experience. In this case you tuen the knob by visualizing.
So instead of thinking of the WILD process as a flick on a switch, think of it as a process of tuning into the non-physical state.
In fact you can do it right now, however it probably takes more time and practise to do it now. But upon awakening you are already a little bit tuned in.
Do you get what I am saying here? Instead of looking for hypnagogic imagery or signs of the dream, create it yourself!
You WILD to be in control, not be controlled. ;)
Sweet dreams! :content:
