DEILD and move signals
hello,
i'm new here, and i'm a bit lost in this forum, so sorry for when it's posted in the wrong section --' but here's my question:
(i've never had a succesful DEILD)
i woke up this night from a sms and i saw an opportunity.
i kept laying in the same position and didnt open my eyes.
my arm was under my head, and after 10-20 seconds it started to hurt, a lot...
i thought it was just an urge / move signal so i remaind still.
but i was afraid it was not an urge / move signal, so i rolled over (because i wanna keep my arm alive :) ) and it disapeared immediately.
now my question is, did i feel an urge? or did my arm just hurt because it was laying under my head all night?
how do you recognize the difference between an urge and real pain?
normally i lay on my back when i'm trying to enter SP. then i feel an urge in my thighs and chest, and they don't feel like 'pain'.
i think it was an urge because the pain came up after a few seconds... but, i don't know much about DEILD and sleep paralysis.
thx, erik

It was probably pain. Roll over signal usually isnt pain its just strong urge to move because you cant get comfortable. Also you should move if the urge is so annoying that it will make you more awake. You need to feel comfortable so it doesnt bother you too much otherwise you cant fall asleep. My roll over signals usually lasts only about 10 sec then i start to feel confortable if it doesnt go away i just move to better position.

thank you!
One more question.
I love watching the colours at the back of my eyelids.
but i always 'sharpen' (is that a word?) my eyes. Everytime I feel a new colourwave coming up, my eye lens stretches.
It kinda hurt and i think it keeps me awake.
iI can only stop it by opening my eyes.
is it oke to stretch my eye lenses? or should i just give up watching the colours?
(hope you understand my dutch-english)

Yeah i know that problem. It will stop you from falling to asleep. I used to look at the patterns but it made me focus too much on them and i started to feel presure in my eyes and forced me to open them. Now i just visualize things. It makes me forget my physical senses and its much easier to fall asleep. Maybe you should stop watching the colors if it causes you to feel discomfourt. The key to deild and wild is to learn to relax completely. Nothing should cause you any discomfourt.
