Just discovered I was doing a good lucid technique all this time

I just discovered the technique i do has a name and that it is the easiest and most common to get lucid dream. And i got my first lucid some time ago from doing it.

It's called WBTB wake back to bed.
I did it because in laberge it said set alarms 4.5, 6 and 7.5 hours after sleep. And that's basically what i've been doing all this time.
But this is the first time i actually read about it and read about how to do it better.
like you have to stay up a while (20-60 minutes) when you wake up. i didn't know that. but usually i've had trouble going back to sleep( if you guys remember) but lately i've been having easier times goign back to sleep. Now i can go back to sleep easy.

But yea anyways, it's just funny. i was doing WBTB and i didn't know it. Well i'm not a good reader and i don't read everything perfectly so i guess i never payed attention to the name. and the fact that it's one of the easiest apparently.

Guys, i'm actually not sure if i did WBTB or WILD.
Specificially my first time i had my lucid dream i'm not sure which i did. Cause they both start with W so i'm not sure what the difference is.

Basically this is what i did. I woke up like at 4am. Then went back to bed. And as i was going to sleep with eyes closed i kept saying "I am dreaming"
and then some time after or i'm not sure if immediately i went to the dream world and i was like in bed looking at my hands and doing reality checks.

But i'm not sure if that technique was WBTB or WILD. since i dont really know what the difference is.
well but they said WILD is you keep awake and in my case i think i went through a transitional period like the typical dreamers do. so maybe it was not WILD because i read about WILD and it says you keep alert and concious through the transition from waking to dream. and i dont think mine was like that.
it was kinda like that but not really cause i did experience a transition period .

It sounds to me like you are doing a combination of WBTB and MILD.
That's good, because that's easily one of the most popular and successful combinations. :content:

WBTB means that you get up for a while and then go back to sleep with the goal to become lucid, MILD is simply a mnemonic technique where you decide that you will realize that you are dreaming, and WILD means that you stay conscious while falling asleep at the same time.

On a side note, WBTB and WILD aren't really "techniques".
WBTB just means that you temporarily interrupt your REM cycle so that you can prepare more efficiently to become lucid when you fall asleep again, and WILD is a whole set of techniques that are all focused on bringing your consciousness directly into the dreamworld.
One example of a technique that I believe counts as a WILD technique is VILD (Visualization-Induced Lucid Dream), which means that you visualize a dream environment while you fall asleep and decide that you are going to do a Reality Check when you enter that dream.
