Trouble Inducing MILDs
Some nights, I would go to sleep and think “The next time I experience (dream sign), I’ll know that I’m dreaming”, but for some reason, I never remember it when dreaming.
I think my prospective memory is good, e.g. when going to bed at night, I would usually have a brief thought about something I need to do in the morning, and I always remember it upon awakening; so I don’t think prospective memory is the problem.
If anything, I think the problem is that I can’t take the intention seriously, i.e. I find the idea to set your mind to ‘notice’ something in a dream very vague, and for some reason, I never think it will work. I'm not really sure what the problem could be.
Any advice? Thanks for your responses. ;)

Visualize it instead ;) It motivates you more and it works better.

So you are doing one thing to try and become lucid, that is something very few people have success with and that people use as a supplement to normal techniques, not as a technique by itself.
If all it took was a common dreamsign to LD every night, then everyone would LD every night. Your memory is impaired when you are in a dream. You are also not as good at reasoning things in a dream. This is something that you have to get over to LD.

^^ Thanks.
I suppose it does sound a bit far-fetched that you could induce LDs like this every night. I’ve had a few experiences like this, but there was certainly more to those attempts than a simple request of prospective memory, like high expectation etc. overall though, I can certainly see MILD as being an effective supplement, like you said.

Some people can. I am getting close to 1/night. Some people can get multiples a night. It all takes practice though! No one starts out awesome.
