EXTREMELY disturbing experience, help...

ive been having some luck with MILD after months and months of avoiding it. ive finally been able to induce lucidity, but it never gets beyond the point of realizing it. everytime i realize it, i feel myself in my real body vibrating, or whatever, and i flip from real to dream, and then i wake up.

but last night, i had a dream where in the end, i passed out in blackness. i then felt myself in my body vibrating, with some forces pulling me upward out of my bed. i let it happen, and i felt my dream body fly out of my bed toward the celing, but i started thinking too much and it ended and i was back in the body.

things like this have happened about 7 times by now, and everytime the realization is disturbing to me, AND it never gets beyond that point. i always wake up or something bizarre happens. anyway to get past that point??

It's sounds to me like an OBE, but it's very vague what an OBE is...

what occured to me afterwards was that maybe it was the very end of a WILD. ive tried wild dozens of times with nothing happening...but maybe becase i was half in the dream, it was like a condensed WILD or something.

I frequently have LDs that start off very violently, or become so in middle of one. I get pulled all over the place, get sucked up or down, shake, vibrate and whatnot :o But it never did me any harm though it can be quite frightening in the moment itself. You shouldn't be too worried about it though.. ;) I think it happens to more people, it's just that some people experience it much stronger than others :-P

IMO you are unable to enter a fully lucid dream because of the strong emotions that surround your entry. Fear, anxiety and excitement among others tend to keep you anchored to the real world. Thinking too much or controlling your breathing is also an anchor that makes it very hard to enter any dream...


To me, the flying out of your body thing seems to be the "natural" WILD onset - that is: you dont know what's going on, but things happen regardless. My first WILD was like that, and most NDEs are strikingly similar...

I had the same thing happen Art. Years ago before I ever heard of Lucid Dreaming. The only thing that kept me from completely leaving my body was fear. Wasn't sure if I'd ever get back in. Disturbing

I get this frequently when I use a special mp3, I get vibrations and paralysis but when I feel my 'body' being tugged I dont know what to do...I dont know if I should imagine something pulling me out of my body or if I should just let things go...Because when I let things go the feelings subside... (This is in the beggining ofthe night )
