5 seconds of Heaven
Excited beyond belief. Yet very upset.
I have been studying and practicing lucid dreams for QUITE some time. Since I was about 15, a sophomore in high school til now, age 21.
I've never had a lucid experience till a couple days ago randomly, and I used to scroll the pages of this site quite frequently back in the day.
I was taking a nap for a couple hours before going into work and I was really tired but then I started to dream...I remember walking through gas stations, passing cops, and walking out of a garage and all of a sudden...I heard a shouting of my voice.
Screaming "YOU'RE DREAMING"
So I woke up in the dream and it felt like my eyes were beginning to open and gain clarity. I finally understand that now, and I got so excited and I began to instantly try to fly (my biggest desire) and the dream ended extremely quickly with in 5 seconds.
I cannot express my happiness enough but I am requesting more information from you lovely dreamers. I'm going to start doing reality checks in my real life because I see how they crossover into dreams now.
I'm so excited to do so again and I really want to know what the next step is. WILD's have always been a bit difficult for me, but for me to finally realize I was dreaming and induce awareness is a great accomplishment.
But 5 seconds in heaven is definitely not enough. Haha.
Thanks to whoever may read or respond.

Congrats on your first LD!
The first step you should take is keeping a dream journal where you record the dreams you remember from the previous night. This is the best way to create familiarity with your dream world.

Congratulations on the lucid, and on sticking with it for so long! And many moooorrreeeeee!

Very cool! The start of your endless LD adventures. I advise that the next time it happens, you have a goal of not trying anything. Just try to stay calm and saying "This is a dream" while slowly looking around your immediate area. Do not turn your head quickly and do not move around much. If the dream is intact by the time say 1 minute has gone by, then try something simple such as jumping forward in strides or jumping on to something. Just jumping a couple times and having it be like on the moon is a good enough starting point. Then in later LDs build from there.

Yes!! Congratulations on this huge milestone in your lucid dreaming journey!
I like Sivason's advice of of staying calm and observing the dream. Take the time to be really present in your next lucid and just marvel at the detail of the experience that your mind can produce. Something as simple as studying the detail of your dream body's hands can be a mind-blowing experience.
This is only the beginning for you -- here's to many more nights of lucids! :goodjob2: Keep up the good work!

It's great, right? Like a big pump of adrenaline right into you're system for the rest of the day. Wait until you get into dream control. You haven't even scratched the surface yet.
Keep it up dude

Thanks you all, I appreciate that advice Sivason, definitely keeping up with my dream journal as well and writing down what happens.
I was just so damn excited, I didn't know WHAT to do at all, and I just started to DO whatever I FELT at that moment.
I can't wait till I can finally interact with everyone else here and share more experiences haha.

Congrats JaYC! That is what I wanted to do first, fly. But all I did was just float to the ground and it ended. Kind of a 5 second dream also :)

Congratulations!
Keep writting journal (even on the middle of the night, even if you only remember "a friend" and not a whole scene, you'll be surprised how many times dark-and-hidden-dream memories light up suddenly), and check and try the many different techniques around, you should find the one that better suits you.

Congrats, can you explain this eye opening more? Were you not able to see properly in the dream beforehand?
