Tbh I doubt sleeping in different posistions affect dreaming, unless the place your sleeping is comfy, that's all that matters.
I read somewhere that men with more testosterone will take up more space on the bed like sleep like an x
and maybe that has some truth, body language effects our physiology in waking life so why not in sleep?
I did notice some HI and other WILD-like effects when laying on my back, even accidentaly while staying there on a weekend, being lazy to get up, with no intention to sleep. Maybe it gets me more relaxed.
Anyway I found out that staying looking at the ceiling has some other effects, like bad breathing. Usually I turn on my right side, on a fetal position. It's funny that if I try that same position on my left, one of my arm sits over the other arm, which makes it unconfortable. I tried to replicate the position from my right, but something is not right because then my shoulder gets unconfortable after a while. Lately I also find laying on my belly a nice position to start falling asleep.
So if I have intention to try LDing (which I almost never achieve) first I relax a bit looking at the ceiling, or laying on my front, and after a while I just put my confortable fetal position to the right.
And funny thing, false awakenings start laying on my back... then when I wake up I notice I wasn't in that position.
I think that they don't affect as long as you are confortable. You can get asleep in a non-confortable position if you're too tired, but I'm not sure thats good for LD... But who knows, maybe there's an explanation as to one position being the best "because of this and because of that".
For me, the sleeping positions affect my ability to have LD's. I can WILDs more easily if i sleep on my right. Sleeping on my belly gets me longer dreams (non-lucid).
Sleeping on my back is prime WILD territory for me. I've had the longest and best WILD's that way. I think sleeping position plays a big part in how deeply you sleep.
Sleeping position makes a big difference in some people.*
When I want to have a Lucid I always lay on my back, if I lay on my side I usually won't have one even if I try.
Laying on my back however I'll normally have one even without trying. * *
