Problem With Attaining WILD...opinions ?

My difficulty arises in that I reach a certain point in my WILD experience that I cannot seem to pass. Scenario is as such....I find that I can reach a point where my body is paralyzed and I am certainly conscious while in a sleep like mode. However, I never get to a point of any kind of visualization or "dreaming" in the traditional sense...just the feeling that I am in an altered state of awareness...not necessary a LD but on the right path. It is at this point that I consistantly begin to fixate on my own parylasis which inevitably brings be back to a waking state. I feel so close to the lucid experience I have felt while becoming aware I was dreaming hours after falling asleep.

Does anyone else encounter this? Please give me your opinions and steps you have taken to overcome this...possibly my definations of WILD and LD are off, but I feel like I am simply not progressing far enough along the WILD path.

Yes I've gotten to the paralysis phase, which then takes you to the spinning phase which I lose control of. You're not too far from achieving LD I believe...but I haven't gotten there myself yet so...You just really need to concentrate, ignore your WHOLE body, focus on the mind.

i dont think ive gotten full on SP from a WILD yet. a few days ago i felt my legs and arms went numb all the way up. i felt i was moving my awareness somewhere else. i almost would have had an OBE or LD but our dumbass cat made a aloud noise and i got up to see what it was. god i hate that cat. im going to murder it if it ever decides to get out from under the freakin beds.

but anyway, you should try and imagine yourself rolling out of your body or pulling yourself out of it by way of a rope. i hear this can get u over the threshold.

Thanks I havn't heard of that one....same thing last night...total SP but I couln't either a)maintain it or B) go to the next level.

by SP do u mean you couldnt move if u even tried? or just total numbness. if u are in real SP, then try to imagine sitting upward or rolling off your bed. this will work! 8)

Yeah that's always where I get stuck with WILD's. I'll get up really intense vibrations etc, but my heart will be racing etc... and I can't get any further. What are you meant to do from there? Fall asleep??

I know that as soon as I do it I will understand what to do, but it's hard because I just don't seem to get HI... not meaning to hijack the thread or anything, just curious too.

Well from what I've read about WILDs, including from La'Berge's book and what not, to WILD one needs to simply observe their state of mind when falling asleep. Not really concentrate on WILDing or much anything else.
I suppose that's tough to do but the way I see it one just needs to keep the thought of WILDing on a very thin layer of thought as transparent as possible and just drift off to sleep, cause then I doubt SP will even occur.

I have a quick wild-related question:
I have to get up for school at 6. I plan to set another alarm to wake me up early so i can try WILD a few times. What time should I go to bed, and what time should I set my first alarm for?

wake up at 3:30 (go to bed early enough), stay up till 4:30 or 5. now u have enough time to try it.

Try leaving you're body it's much more fun anyway :) I do have lucid dreams from that state but am much more successful at just leaving my body and having an amazing experience.
