Well, lets hear it. Be specific.
Mostly WBTB and DILD. I would do MILD, but I'm usually too tired when I try to do it, and if I wake up in the middle of the night, I'll have a much higher chance of getting lucid in my dreams.
I've been practicing self-awareness for a few weeks now, since my senior project involves meditation. I'm hoping that self awareness helps with lucid dreaming.
MILD and WBTB are my golden ones.
Random DILDs also come my way :)
WILD is a tough one, but when I try hard usually works!
MILD is a powerhouse technique for me. WBTB and DILD give me a boost and WILD... WILD hates me.
Im currently reintroducing myself to
Lucid dreaming. So im using basic
Reality checks. They are being done
Regularly while im awake. And have
Started showing up in dreams but
Excitement wakes me upp or changes
The dream.
I used to regularly use a type of wbtb
I think i called it quick back to bed.
Where you find the time you dream at
Night or day and set an alarm that
Wakes you just enough to shut it off
Then you instantly go back to sleep
No break. And try to walk yourself
Back into the dream you just had.
Ive been gone so long i dont know
If that method is even used or called
Something new now.
As of late my most common way to become lucid has been … luck. But whenever luck is taking too long I simply use auto-suggestion. I just tell myself I´ll be lucid when I feel like it and most of the time it works … if I get enough sleep.
me personally im a ssilder/filder. Those are my lazy techniques and dont require much wbtb.
Wake back to bed with strong intetion of having a lucid dream. When i wake up naturally around 5am i sit up and just build intention of having a lucid dream. This always works but there is a downside to it. Many times i wake up but im too tired to sit up and build the intetion properly. If i am determent to have a lucid dream i would say that 90% of time it works for me.
WBTB is my goto technique. When I really want to have a lucid dream I use my alarm clock to wake me after 4.5 hours of sleep, stay awake for a bit and then go back to bed using a visualization technique. But lets face it, we all go through a lazy stage and that is where the old trusted RC comes in. What I do is use something that gets my attention during the day for my RC. If it gets my attention during the day, it will do the same in my dream. For many this can be fancy cars, members of the opposite sex, hats, shoes, etc. whatever works for you. If you notice them in waking life, you will also notice them in dreams. This provides me with at least a few DILDs a month without having to do anything in mid-sleep.
DEILD all the way!
Worked magic for my lucid experiences
I must say mine is WILD :) I enjoy tackling the most challenging methods. Plus, nothing is better than the thrill of transitioning from your bed into a dream!
Currently DILD since it's what I have spent all my time building up. It's where I put all my "points" into, and now I have to redistribute.
Trying to get into WILD, but have been unsuccessful due to my stress levels right now.
Reason for trying WILD was auditory hallucinations during an afternoon nap, and it wasn't as nerve racking or demanding on focus as I had once thought. It was my first time hearing and feeling such things, and I want to feel it again.
Thats the feeling I'm talking aout! I love that "transition" into the dream, you go through such unique and different sensations. Basically just sit back and enjoy the ride. Most of the time it all just comes to an abrupt stop and then when I open my eyes I'm in the dream.
My goto technique....which has the highest success rate.....with the most vivid, realistic, incredible lucids with complete level 5 control....
I work shift-work, so I do a "compressed" WBTB technique......
Before BED.......
take 5mg of melatonin 30 minutes before u go to bed
meditate for 10 minutes or so clearing your mind as much as possible
take 250 mg of magnesium the moment u crawl into bed.
i then sleep for 3 1/2 hours......then wake up..........
stay in the dark and try to recall any dream fragments if u had some...
i then take a b6 100mg pill...go to the bathroom, i smoke a cigarette and think of a mantra....
then i go right back to bed....
i will either become lucid at the beginning of the dream like a MILD
or i will become lucid in a DILD...
Footnotes:.......they say to stay awake for 30 minutes or even longer for a WBTB....but for me it takes me a while to even get back to sleep, so the time it takes to smoke a cigarette is long enuff before i need to get back in bed....any longer than that and i wont be able to get back to sleep....
you might have to do some experimenting and tweaking to find what works best......
anytime something works, write down your formula....hell, write down what didnt work as well.....
So far (and that's not very far at all) I've seen results from WBTB and had two DILD's. MILD doesn't seem to happen for me. WILD...well, what can I say about that...I get excited when I hear spurious noises or start to develop visions indicative of the onset of sleep, and when that happens, the whole procedure aborts and re-sets such that all I experience is insomnia. :whyme:
If someone could offer me advice on where I'm going wrong with WILD I'd be most appreciative. Although hard, it seems like the single most consistent way for voluntarily inducing a lucid dream. I >>SO<< want to develop that as a skill, but I'm stumped as to how to proceed.
