Applying AP Phasing for Dreaming

I have just read about Phasing from Xanth's AP site where you have a mental rundown of some visual imagery to disassociate from the external phsyical world while lying down. I was wondering if it would be possible to use this to enter a lucid dream since there are links between projection and dreaming?
I have walked thru my apartment and done it with eyes closed as I visualize the scene in front of me. Now I cna do it while lying down and one trip takes about 7 mins. I can keep looping this trip.
If I keep doing this daily when I wake up at night and also go to sleep and maybe when I meditate in the evening and also keep in mind the thought that I am dreaming as I visualize this, then when I actually fall asleep will I dream this scene and become lucid in it ? A reality from which I can astrally project?
I am not sure what Xanth means by phasing "into" the scene unless he means it becomes a reality with you actually in it instead of just visualizing it?

Does anybody have any info or experience in this? Thanks....
