Negative views?
Hi all,
Iv noticed in alot of my lucids dreams that im always in a very familiar place which can bore me.So ofcourse i try and open a door and hope that on the other side will be an amazing peaceful beach or somewhere nice but ofcourse when i open the door its just the same place im already at.Maybe knowing theres a possibility that it wont work causes me to expect that it wont work? And maybe same as reason as to why i cannot fly alot and keep landing on my stomach.Id love to know how to get out of this negative way of expecting to fail in a LD if ofcourse thats the reason for why i cannot change scene etc....tha ks for reading in advance and any replys will be much appreciated xx

Mindfulness
Well, meditating can help I guess...All I can say is DON'T believe that you cannot achieve something in a dream. I know it's easier said then done but any negative thought about something like that will not get you anywhere in a LD. Mindfulness is always helpful.
It's really hard for me to explain how to do that honestly...
In regards to flying and the like, at least from my experiences, it takes time to get better at it. Like learning how to ride a bike. But the thought about "not being able to do it" will slow down the process. I also struggle in getting into LDs that I want and at times I cringe with the idea that it cannot be done. But I try to push that all aside and work to get what I want.

Thanx for the reply and its true i need to learn to not focus on what i cant do.Iv had about 50 LDs in total and the weird thing is that some things i can do with ease such as manipulating objects and throwing things like cars and stuff.....i think with more practise and practising mindfulness and all day awareness ill get there....thanx again =)

I was exactly like that but you just gotta know that it's a dream and you have all power over it, don't give up :)
You can do anything and even do multiple stabilizing techniques because they help a ton, if you haven't already. But good luck and I wish you the best!

Hey there,
It can help to focus on the result, and not on the action.
For example, when you're flying and you find you're losing control, focus on where you're going, not on your lack of control. When you're trying to get to a beach through a door, focus on the beach , not the door. Sometimes, you can even 'fib' it by telling yourself and the dream you did succeed, even if its not apparent yet. If you walk through that door and the beach isn't there, tell yourself that it is. Walk around wherever you are and focus on the beach, and the dream might catch up and slowly change your surroundings to that beach.
Dreams have a tendency to follow your train of thought. If your train of thought is 'oh I'm losing control of my flight', you likely will lose more control. If your train of thought is 'that's where I'm flying towards', your flight might stabilize. Likewise, if your train of thought is 'I'm not at the beach I wanted', then the dream will make sure you're not there. If your train of thought is 'I am at the beach' even when you don't seem to be, the dream may follow it and bring you there.
Just my experience,
