Is it easier having a second LD in the same night than the initial?

Say I become lucid in a dream and manage okay lucidity and manage to even do a few interesting things before waking up, would it be easier to DEILD from that LD than it was to initially become lucid in the one before?

I ask because I still remember the dream feel I had in my last, but I was so excited to record my LD that I didn't even consider trying to slip into another one straight after. I feel maybe having just experienced one it might be easier to gain another the same night because the feeling is fresh in your mind.

^^ In my experience, yes, it is much easier to DEILD from a LD than it is to initially establish a LD... especially if the route you took originally was a WILD. Even DILD's, which on paper seem easier than a DEILD, can be more difficult to get started than a DEILD.

The reason for this is fairly simple: You are already lucid when you DEILD, so you are not so much attempting to start a LD, but rather are continuing or maintaining an established state of lucidity. In a sense, with DEILD, the hard work of becoming lucid has already been done, and now you are capitalizing it.

For me it is much more important to continue the lucid experience than it is to stop it in order to write down what just happened. You will probably remember the dream from which you are emerging for your DEILD anyway, so you can do your DEILD and write it all down later. And, even should you not remember that initial LD, you will have a new one to fill it.s place, right?

I find it to be easier to have a second lucid (or more) if I already had one. As Sageous said, DEILDs are a great way to continue being lucid. Even DEILDs from NLD are a great way to start a chain of lucid dreams later - as long as you catch yourself waking up.
Plus, in my experience, becoming lucid at one point makes it more likely to become lucid again at a later point of your sleep (even without specifically trying to do that). Most of my lucids are towards the end of my sleep - but if I have an early lucid (which is rather rare for me) I'm very likely to have another one towards the end of sleep too (assuming I'm not DEILDing anyway).

About recall - what Sageous said - it's more important to continue the lucid, since lucid experiences are unlikely to be forgotten anyway. Unfortunately, sometimes I forget to prioritize too, and forget to DEILD or something, in favor of recording the experience out of excitement... But when I do remember my priorities, prolonging the LD never impacts my recall of it (even if I lose lucidity at some point).

Oh god have I been feeling that even DILD is hard work lately, I am practically screaming at my dream self to RC lol but he just won't do it.

Anyway thanks for that! I have tried to DEILD a few times but I think I need to go back and re-read the tutorial for it as I seem to be mucking it up somewhat.
