      Question WBTB Alarm

So, lets say you used to wake up in the middle of the night naturally, but now you don't, at least as often. Now you can't do the DEILD'S that seemed so promising. So, you decide to set an alarm 2.5 and 4.5 hours after you go to sleep. (2.5 hours later) the alarm goes off, however, it keeps on ringing, forcing you to stop it, and making you forget your dream, goodbye DEILD. You get out of bed grumpy, and get on DV, then you create a thread and ask if anyone knows of an app that has an alarm that rings once or twice and then turns of automatically so this doesn't happen again, and they say...

I think Alarm Clock Plus can do this. It's the only one that I used that had settings for it.

I tried it out, found the setting, but it is really messed up, lots of problems. I read the reviews and other people had the same issues, though apparently it used to work. I tried lots of other alarm apps, but couldn't find one that had an auto dismiss/turn off setting. However, I am now going to make my own with an Arduino and a Remote and a LCD Display.

Why do you think you stopped waking up naturally?

Not sure, I think that perhaps because I tried an alarm once or twice as well as naturally, my brain decided that it didn't need to naturally do it, the alarm would wake me up when I wanted it. Nonetheless, with my alarm I am making myself, it will be better than natural.

i wanted to answer here much earlier...
the time i experiment with it was also alarm clock plus... worked like a charme after two days i knew how loud and long the alarm had to be to wake up from it.

but i really only can emphasis that i would work with your natural waking. its way way better for recall because an alarm always rips you of the dream. i would work with a mantra like "i notice every wakening i have and remember my dreams" tell you something like this before you fall asleep and it will work after some days. when i work on this i notice between 3 and 5 wakenings each night... with recall of the previous dream and then you can decide if you want to lay still and do deild or to do a short or a long wbtb or whatever.
but in my opinion this is a way more naturally approach to this. and after some time it is second nature and you will notice how you lay around middle of the night and thinking about your last dream before you even notice that you are awake

Ya I agree with RelaxandDream on this one. I think alarms have some draw backs and natural waking has alot of advantages. Well said and this is basically what I do but I wouldn't have known how to word it. Thanks
