I have a problem
hello everyone,
I don't know if this is the right section but anyway; sometimes I spontaneously wake up in the middle of the night after a dream, so when this happens I try to perform a technique like MILD, WILD or other stuff but when I do it gets really hard to fall back asleep and I end up lying in my bed for hours.
It's really frustrating because when I get up in the morning I'm tired, obviously the technique I tried didn't work and I can't remember any dream.
I dont know why this happens, maybe I'm doing something wrong, do you have any suggestion or had the same problem?

This used to happen to me often. Well I'm still waking randomly everyday but I can fall asleep now.
The good thing is you are naturally getting a WBTB, so that could be good for Ld.
What I did was:
I moved most of my techniques (meditation, mild.. etc) to earlier during the day; because i noticed if I tried the techniques too hard before bed, or after waking up, it was harder to sleep. I do it again at sleep, but for short time.
After I wake up, I try to go back to sleep right away asap and think about mantra a few times, very relaxed. If I have to pee, I pee and back to sleep. If I note dream, I write maybe 3 words then sleep. If nothing, I just go back to sleep. I also try to avoid using the phone. Very relaxed is key!
So try very short and easy, relaxed mild. You probably have to experiment to find the best way for you but I hope this helps

Thank you for your reply

I am learning that there is a delicate balance between waking fully up and staying close to the threshold of sleep when doing a WBTB. Try to keep that in mind when you get up in the night.
I have also found that a few short SSILD cycles can really relax your body get you close to sleep while still keeping your mind in the game....even if you intend to try another technique.
Sleep well.......and dream. :)
