There are two useful sections in Michael Raduga's guidebook on 'deepening' and 'maintaining' techniques. Prolonguing lucid dreams is usually based on sensory amplification including proprioception.
I've always found spinning to extend my lucid dreams a very effective method personally... I will start to feel the awakening process begin, as I spin rapidly and the environment changes rapidly as does my perception of awakening... Seems to work every time I'm about to awaken. I learned this technique to extend lucid dreams a while ago from this forum too... :D
