Am I close to a WILD?

Hello all..

Last night I was quite unusually able to close my eyes and keep them closed with what seemed like no effort. Eventually I felt a tingling sensation in my two legs and my right arm (but not my left arm for some reason) I recognized these as probably signs of SP, and I began to shake a little bit but that stopped shortly. Then however I felt my body spinning around for what felt like a couple minutes.. I just let it do its thing and eventually it all stopped. My eyes remained closed but nothing was happening. I tried an RC and found that I was still awake..

Am I doing this right? Should I keep my eyes closed or let them remain open? The problem is that in order to lie on my right side i face my two computers which give off green and red lights that fill up half of the room.. Should I have just waited after spinning around for awhile longer for some hypnagogic imagery or what?

I've havent been able to WILD successfully yet (only been lucid dreaming for about 2 months) but these are the things I've gathered from my own experiance and from what I have read.

The tingling sensation you had was your limbs "falling asleep". It's ok if you dont get that sensation in all the limbs, it dosent mean they arent in the same state as the others.

Some say the shaikings comes only once, some twice before they can slip into a lucid dream. Iðve been close to sliping into a dream when trying wild and I only have the shakes once.

The sensation of spining is different among people. I dont get a spinning sensation, I rather have like abit og a plunge sensation, I feel like im shrinking or something. Hard to explain the feeling :roll:

At this stage (or after it, not sure if its the same for everyone) you are supposed to see fractions of images or light. I saw some images when I was trying this the other day, at first they were unclear and then they came more clear and I freaked out a bit and lost control.

These images will grow untill they become a dream. If you've done it successfully youðll be lucid. :D

You may also want to try the WBTB method alongisde this. :)

you almost had it...Just keep trying. And definately in combination with WBTB its hard not to succeed.

I think I must've come close too, then. I had the tingling feeling in all my limbs, and was getting all kinds of weird feelings. Never had any "shaking" though.. nor any real imagery. It has been interesting, though.

I did have a really cool feeling like my bed was moving in waves. Very entertaining. :mrgreen:

I sometimes have an occurance where sometime during my attempt at WILD, my eyes just open, yet I still think this is closed, almost as if I had two sets of eye-lids... anyone else get that? I've never become lucid through WILD so when that happened to me I kinda backed off. I know it's stupid to be scared but that experience has happened twice, anyone else?

I was trying to sleep with my computer on recently, and found the green light from the speaker to be surprisingly bright and distracting. I didn't manage to sleep.

I'm going to try it again (using the pc as an alarm clock. Hehe) but I'm going to cover up the lights. I guess you could try that.

A long time I ago I think Iposted something about having two sets of eyellids, or eyes. In fact, I actually used this visualization to help me become lucid. Its a great way to WILD when starting off the dream. Just open your dream eyes. For me its normal, and a good sign, when I can create a dream body, starting with the eyes.

hmm.. are you saying that I should in fact keep my eyes open during the WILD process? or just certain parts of it?

I seem to be having a lot of trouble with my eyes for some reason :P

Also, It feels like when I closed my eyes last night I had this bright flash of light that lasts for a slight fraction of a second or so. When I closed my eyes last night, I also immediately started entering SP, or so it felt.

Am I getting even closer? It seems like my mind power is excellent for at least this particular stage of WILD but after I get into SP it all starts to fail on me. Is it supposed to take a very long amount of time to get hypnagogic imagery?

Your actual eyes should be closed the whole time, but eventually you'll get new ones you can open. HI comes quickly but it may take awhile before they become quite intense. Do you notice patterns, or anything even remotely visual when you close your eyes and begin going to sleep? I certainly do. If I didnt Id be an insomniac, I think.

Hmm... It's possible that I may be seeing "remotely visual" things with my eyes closed, but if it is, then it happens in a very small fraction of a second. I can't think of any patterns and I couldn't tell you what they were. However, I often see colors like blue, green, and purple with my eyes shut, but I don't know if that means anything special.

Also, how will I know when it is time for my new eyes to open? Or will it not be might choice? And either way, is that the right time for a RC?

When I talk about early HI it's hardly anything that stands out. Its mostly darkness. Its more mental then visual...for me anyways. It becomes quite visual by the end.

I dont know when you should try opening your eyes...I dont know when I should do it. I just somehow know. Ive never done it early, so i dont know how to help you on that one. I think once I enter a dream through WILD, It's very obvious that I've just "crossed over"

You should let your mind wander but on a leash. Just try picturing being in a lucid dream already, thinking about how you know you're dreaming and exploring a dream world. Your mind wil inevitably wander but it should stay on topic. This works for me anyways, though it doesnt too often work out as a WILD. I usually lose conciousness just as I slip into the dream but realize what happened within the first minute of the dream. But I definately have gotten many WILDs this way.

I hope this helps at least a little. This is everything I do and what works for me, but everyone is different. Just keep at it and dont worry about it, and im sure it will work.

I think I was close to WILDing as well. I got to have intense HI of my friend eating a cat :lol: Anywho, I can get to that stage pretty quickly but I get caught up on what to do next. I realized that it was just HI and did some math but from then on I just was laying there. Maybe I woke myself up.. Anyone know what to do?

Yes.. I started to have some vague HI as well but I was lying in bed trying as hard as possible not to move a muscle but it got too uncomfortable.. so I moved my legs and I think I woke up from my pre-Lucid Dreaming stage :/

Is this a no-no? I feel like I'm so close but something stops me every time.. lol
