Tired?
hey, i was wondering. is it easier to have a lucid dream if u go to sleep right when u get tired? cause i always have good long dreams when i go to sleep when i feel the need to. if i stay up to like 3 in the morning and im just gone i never have good dreams.

I have my longest, most vivid ld's when I am completely exhausted. In fact, I finally managed to WILD that way the other night.

The longer you're in a dream, the higher the chance you have for having a lucid dream. You spend more time dreaming towards the later part of your sleep (just before you wake up in the morning).
So, the trick is really to get as much sleep as possible. More sleep = longer dream periods = likelyhood of lucid dreaming..
Since sleep is a cumulative necessity (your body can make up for lost sleep at a later time) depriving yourself of sleep may make you have deeper or longer REM periods when you finally do decide to make up for it later.

I have good dreams if I go to bed tired too, but I think the thing is that you should do it on a day when you can stay in bed the next morning, so that you are still getting enough sleep.
But don't try and completely exhaust yourself, because that's just not good for you. :-P
