My first attempt at a WILD... a failure
So, I went to bed around 11, set my alarm for 5. Blah blah, went to sleep, alarm goes off at 5, woke up. No problems so far. I don't remember exactly what happened after I woke up, though. I know I tried to WILD, but I think I was too tired to concentrate, and I ended up just falling asleep.
After I woke up later that morning, I realized that this was a good time to try again. I closed my eyes and focused on the colors and shapes. I don't know how long it took, but before I knew it, I was up to the point where the colors and shapes had formed into distinguishable patterns. But then, for some reason, I opened my eyes. Just ended it right there. I was disappointed at myself, but I was determined to try again. No such luck this time. I just lied there for about half an hour, seeing nothing but moving blobs of color. Frustrated, I gave that up and tried a few more times; in different positions, paying more attention to breathing, using the "going through a tunnel" technique, etc. Everything failed. I decided I was too much awake to attempt this any further, so I gave up for the day.
So far I'm not having much luck with anything that involves waking up after 5-6 hours of sleep. I tried NILDing, but the problem was, I had a hard time getting back to sleep. I ended up spending about 3 hours awake, and when I did finally get to sleep, it was only an hour, lucid-dream-less.
So, any tips?
