Ways To Stay Lucid
When i have LD's i find the lasting only about a few mins..the longest one ive had was about 10mins...my obvious questions is...
What are some ways to stay lucid in your dreams longer....besides the normal ones' that we all know...
Like, do any of you have ur own ways of staying lucid besides-spinning, rubbing of hands, RC's saying "clarity & Lucidity now" and so on..
im looking for NEW ways of staying lucid
thanks

Re: Staying lucid
Hi there
Well spinning does work well for me. However I do use the following although you might have already come across this...
Do you experience the 'the shows over folks' precurser to waking up? i.e. the sensation that a curtain is closing on the dream or like the end of a cartoon where the edges go darker and darker and the picture becomes smaller and smaller? That's what happens to me.
So if that starts happening, I imagine sunlight flooding and I run towards the picture (like running down a tunnel). Basically I run back into my dream! The sunlight is to instruct my head that I don't want to wake up yet - to keep the brightness because brightness = lucidity for me. Running back is to get involved as quickly as possible with the dream before waking consciousness hits.
That's just my way of dealing with it - doesn't always work, but it has done.
Bright Blessings

I think that the duration of lucid dreams also depends on the stage of REM you become lucid at. For example, if in a 30 minute REM period you become lucid in the first 5 minutes you are more likely to stay lucid for the next 25 minutes. However if you become lucid 29 minutes into your REM period you may just naturally wake up after 1 minute.
Just a thought.
