I went with accidently. I knew about it for years but never really though anything about it until it happened one night.......
The rest is history :D
Eh... only been trying for about 5 days lol. At least I remembered one dream :)... most I have remembered...since I can remember. Lol
Haven't had one yet, but I think I'm getting close. Last night I had 3 long, vivid dreams... wrote them all down in my DJ, too. Hehe, I'm proud. :)
well, i tired for about 4 or 5 months to 'astral project' before i finally had one brief experience...i gave up shortly after.
however, when a couple years later i heard about lucid dreaming (which is the same thing in my mind) which has much better induction techniques IMO, and started reading LaBerge's EWOLD, i had one within a week.
if you haven't already, try WBTB combined with MILD. that' been a goldmine for me (both are described in the tutorials section)
The first one happened a week after I started trying. There again, that was three weeks ago and it hasn't happened again since...
It took me three weeks. The second one was a week later, but since then I've hardly had them.... well, I'm not entirely sure, though, because it seems to me like I'm probably becoming lucid and just not remembering. But I've been wrong before.
I'm starting to have at least one every weekend ('cept this weekend...). But it took me just over a fortnight.
ya i am still tryin, but i think i am gettin close because i had control over a dream i think for like 15 seconds, but it wasnt really clear, does that matter? it didnt look like real life, just a dream. If i had had the commen sense to do a dream check right then would i have gotten clearer?

Yeah, I voted accidentally. I never really strove to have an LD, but I had one and thought it was so cool. I've been hooked ever since.
I found out about Lucid Dreaming over Christmas vacation and I had my first one (which has so far been my best) within a week. It was probably because I was completely pumped and couldn't wait to do it.
The first time I went lucid was the same night I found this site, as expected I was filled with excitement, I knew that this could wake me up so I told myself not to. I had a false awakening and didn't realise.
Well, technically my first LD was on the same night I found the site, but the dream was over right after I realized I was dreaming, of course.Quote:

I had one the night of the day that I discovered it. I don't recall how or when I found out about lucid dreaming, but I read a bunch of information on it that day; then seeing as my mind was so preoccupied with it, it was readily manifested into my dreams...and voila.
As expected, I immediately awoke upon the realization.
That's neat. On that very night, huh? After I had my first LD, I became so intrigued that I read everything I could on the subject, and later joined here. It had taken me almost a year after my 1st one to have another.Quote:

I wouldn't worry about that. I was just a slow learner. Everyone is different, and there is no reason that this might happen to you. Don't worry or stress about that because you could turn that fear into a self fulfilling prophecy. Be confident!
hmm...
I don't really know how long it took me. I've only had a total of maaaybe 2, the first one was kind of sketchy. Anyway, I used to have (USED to have, who am i kidding) the attention span of a small puppy with ADHD, which may describe all puppies. So I tried for a week and then pretty much....forgot about it. MONTHS later, I came back to it with much more motivation and a little more consistensy. (consistency? ooh thats going to bother me. So I'm a puppy with ADHD AND OCD.) After 3 or 4 nights, (a week tops) I had one. It was ridiculous and all I did was walk down the road in a state 3,000 miles away. After questioning how in the WORLD i ended up in my old neighborhood 3,000 miles away, I dropped some cards that I happened to be holding, picked them up, and promptly shoved my finger straight through my hand. Talk about thrilling (no sarcasm intended). It was fantastic. I think the first one is spurred by motivation and anticipation, and then the second one and all others thereafter take much more skill and determination, along with a bit of discipline. Though that sounds like a lot, I think a few RC's a day and a little bit of MILD before you go to bed (along with a dream journal, OF COURSE!) can do the trick. Consistensy, consistency, consistensy. So it's decided, consistency is spelled with a c.
its pretty amazing, i had another last night. it was just a little strange because i knew i was dreaming, but instead of doing something like fly or something like that i just sorta sat there, almost like i was bored... is there a way to prevent that?

Been trying since july of last year. So far I have only had two lucid dreams. One was pretty cool, the other one stemmed from a false awakening so it kind of sucked.
hey keep your head up man.. dont give up you got it. something will click and youll get it.

i had a dream where i didn't do anything either. i was lucid. yeah it was pretty depressing... but usually it helps to have 2 or 3 things in your head that you want to do first. like say, flying. think about that before going to sleep (which is pretty much like MILDing). that usually helps.
