I don't completly understand your question. I'm pretty sure that you would wake up after a dream and get alittle concious. Then proceed to fall back into you dream while doing mild :D I think I answered you on that one, if not just clarify what you need ;)
The typical time to do MILD is when you are in bed just before you go to sleep.
If you wake up in the middle of the night, you can do some more MILD then (which is a WBTB).
You can also do MILD while pumping gas in your car or taking out the trash. The more you do it the better chance of getting an LD.
Thank you. That was what I was asking. The thing is, I've seen some guides that say you should do it after you wake up from a dream, and say "Next time I'm dreaming, I'll remember I'm dreaming." Others say different. I'm going to mess around with times and practice, see what works best for me.Quote:

LaBerge suggests doing MILD after awakening from a dream and before returning back to sleep for next REM cycle. This works best with WBTB.
The first 4 LDs I had using MILD were all done in combo with WBTB.
I've also had some success with MILD just before sleep when I've been very tired.
What times do you suggest I wake up? I tend to wake up at 4:00 AM, I seem to have really long and vivid dreams. Since it's the weekend, what time do you suggest I wake up at?
When you wake up at 4:00 do you stay up or do you go back to sleep? If you go back to sleep, then this is a good time to wake up. If you get up at 4:00 then set your alarm for 2:30. The sleep cycle is roughly 90 minutes and this will give you a place to start. If 2:30 wakes you up in the middle of a dream, set the alarm for a little later. Ideally as part of the MILD technique you want to train yourself to wake up at the end of every dream.
When LaBerge wrote Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming I believe his MILD technique was to be done as you went to sleep. Now the Lucidity Institute has a revised form of MILD that says do it when you wake up from a dream. That would explain why there are at least two different ways to do this. But I think you have the right approach: to experiment with this and see what works best for you.
