Help with recent attempt at WILD

I was wondering if anyone can help me regarding an attempt at a WILD I had. I went to bed at
Midnight and I recently had a Mountain Dew, so I thought I'd try to WILD because I felt awake, even though I was pretty tired. In only five minutes there were swirling colors of bright red and orange and sometimes blue with my eyes open. I laid there for a long time and to try to pass the time I imagined snow sleding down a steep cliff. I don't know how much time passed but eventually I couldn't feel my legs almost up to my knees and my hands were numb. Occasionaly my hands and legs seemed to move involuntarily every now and then, and I cleared my throat without thinking about it sometimes. At one time everything went a grayish white and I felt numb all over. Then it went back to normal in a couple seconds later. I continued to stay there, hoping something would happen, still thinking about sleding. I eventually thought that I really needed to get my sleep. Before I did though I checked the time. I was trying for about an hour and a half, then I tryed to get some sleep.

Was I anywhere close to a WILD? Does anyone have some tips or advice? I'm no good at dream recall and I wanted to WILD but I don't know how. I'm thankful to anyone who would help me. Thanks again DreamViews!

I think you were fairly close. Try doing away with the mountain dew before bed. Also, try going to sleep for a few hours before trying to WILD. That part is pretty essential. Good luck next time though.

Oh, I think it was the mountain dew that kept me awake. I tried to do a WILD before and I kept falling asleep. I'll try to WILD tonight after a couple hours of sleeping and see if that will work.
I'm no good at this WILD stuff. Hehehe.
