Cant concentrate on hynogogic imagery during WILD
Hi, I've just started trying to get into Lucid Dreams after realising I was dreaming two nights ago. Just before attainting lucidity I became scared because of this strange rushing noise and spinning sensation throughout my body and ended up looking at complete darkness before waking up.
So, here I am. I just tried the WILD technique during an afternoon nap. I tried it several times over after being disrupted by noise from planes, cars, neighbours etc and eventually managed to become very relaxed. I tried imaging electrical impulses flowing through my body and began to feel some strong vibrations but I think that may have been because I was simply excited and anticipating that I would feel them. I then switched to chanting to myself mentally and I got to the point where I was seeing little coiled pink strings and even faces in the darkness, but I found that when I tried to focus on them they simply disappeared. Auditory hallucinations also scared me a bit: I heard a sucking sound every now and then, even my name being called out. This kept jolting me awake.
Any tips on how to focus more?
REM Movement a bit disconcerting
Is it usual to experience extremely fast REM movement while drifting into SP?
My eyes feel like they've been connected to batteries, because they're darting from side to side at such a speed I just cant keep them closed without quitting. It gets to the point where they hurt. At the same time theres a rushing sound in my head that gets louder by the second.
Aghhh, I wish these small sensations wouldn't freak me out so much. I can get into full-blown hypnogogic imagery within 10 minutes, but its the transition to SP that I find hard.
