Saffron Tea is a possibility

I recently drank some Saffron Tea in the morning to start off my day, and the same night I had a crazy vivid lucid, it was great, the best in a awhile. Then a few days later after having no lucids, I had another incredibly vivid lucid dream. That same morning I drank saffron tea in the morning.

I know thats wierd, because it would make sense to drink it at night and see its effects. Mind you I don't have extremely vivid lucid dreams like those all the time. I am going to continue to experiment with Saffron tea. Both times that I drank it I wasn't subconciously trying to have a lucid dream. I didn't even make the connection until now.

I don't know that much about saffron except that it is a very rare herb with a lot of special properties. It costs a butload for the amount you get, so its necessary to do some research around town as to where you can get it the cheapest.

don't worry, safron has had culinary uses since before the beginning of time. Its been used in drinks and such. Straining into a tea is perfectly harmless, just know how much you are using.

Saffron is what buddhist monks dye their robes in. It has a very interesting pungent bittersweet taste. It has many spiritual uses. People rub it on their brow chakra to induce enlightenment and increase energy flow. I find the herb fascinating.

Interesting. Can you please give details on exactly how you made it (quantity/technique), and how it tastes as a tea. I don't know about tea, but yeah, it's a good additive in a rice recipe I like (though it is rather bitter and tasteless alone, slighty contradictory, I know). Seriously though, how much do you need to use for tea?, and how do you make it?, as it costs something like 8 bucks for a tiny container of it. Most importantly though, does saffron tea taste good? I don't put stuff I don't like in my mouth, I don't care what great effects it has.

Well I enjoy the taste of Saffron personally, but I know that tea and herbs have very acquired taste and might be difficult to get used to. To make the tea, I you can use a teaspoon size pinch of herbs, it takes awhile to brew with this small amount but it costs so much that its worth it.

I know lots of people don't like certain kinds of tea that is bitter. Saffron has a nice bitter with a subtle tang, its interesting. It just depends on your taste.

Thanks for the idea. i will try it out sometime, but it won't be until saturday at the earliest because I don't have time to wait for tea to brew in the morning usually because otherwise I will miss the bus to school.

saffron is delicious and more valuable than gold.

If you don't like the taste, or would rather not have to find out, I would imagine that mixing saffron and peppermint would be a good idea. I have had amazing success with peppermint helping my recall by far more than anything else. Then again, at this point, you probably have decent recall, but it's worth it just for the taste.

I'm pretty sure I like the taste, so that shouldn't be a problem for me, I just haven't had much experience with saffron, so I don't really know. Peppermint sounds like a good idea though, I love peppermint. And if it helps with recall then even better. I have decent recall on weekends when I am into it, and get better sleep, and sometimes if I manage to get into the right mindset during the week, but generaly during the week I kind of slack off because I am preocupied by school and stuff.

I had some saffron tea about noon today. I took a bit under a teaspoon of saffron, and let it brew. I actually triple used the saffron, making three small cups of tea. I think it can be reused if you replace the actual tea in a teabag with the saffron, which is what I did for the third cup. I found that I neither liked nor disliked the flavor...to put it simply, unless it induces a lucid, I am not going to bother with it as it is very expensive (I don't know exactly how much, as I just took it off the spice rack in the kitchen, and the label is gone, and I don't want to know).

Its going to be interesting to see your results, PenguinLord13.

Then again, if we dont hear back from you, i'll just assume that three cups was a bit too much, and you are currently lying comatose in a hospital bed.

The quality and, especially, freshness of saffron is paramount. It quickly looses potency as the safranal oxidizes in air or simply evaporates out of the product. One should be able to roughly guage potency by the strength of a samples odor.

Peppermint may very well serve as more than a flavoring agent. Orally consumed peppermint increases the rate of sublingual absorbtion of drugs, it would help some of the safranal bypass the gastrointestinal tract and enter your bloodstream more directly by means of the oral mucosa (it would soak through the soft looking tissue under your tongue).
Some of my mates seek out premium grade saffron and chew a pinch (rather than make tea) for its mood elevating effects.

Quite interesting to hear of your success increasing recall with peppermint :)

Maybe that's why I didn't have any results. I don't know about smell, but it's been on the spice rack for a rather long time, so maybe that's it.

I don't think so. Remember I made three cups with the same teaspoon to maximize the effects by getting as much out of the amount as possible. Anyyways to get too much I would need ABOVE TEN GRAMS, and to put it simple 10 grams is a shitload of saffron. The amount I had (a bit less than one teaspoonful) was not even nearly 1 gram.

Maybe peppermint helps with it, so I will try it again sometime with peppermint.

Saffron has been used in asian medicine for centuries, as it comes to drinking saffron i think it is a great habit, I myself enjoy drinking saffron , and somehow whenever i drink saffron tea it balances my mood, energy and meantime it gives me a good sleep as well. I tested it and it works, it is magical how easily i feel "i have to sleep now". Saffron as far as i know has anti-oxidant properties, and contain vitamins, it also helps digestion as wel. I also found out it helps preventing vision loss (AMD), i think i should get it for my grandma as well. :shadewink:[spam link removed]

If you get real saffron i think the taste is really different, It is somehow delicious, it depends on how much saffron you mix with water, also eating saffron stigmas remaining in the tea is helpful as well , in case you did not know.
