      Movies

Has anyone here ever tried the following:
-Watch a movie, a good movie, something that will make an impression on you as you fall asleep.
-Do reality checks throughout the duration of the whole thing.
-Go to bed, hope to dream about the movie and likewise reality checks.

I was originally thinking of how people have nightmares after watching really scary movies, and thought it might work to associate it with reality checks.

      Has anyone tried this?

That sounds like a really good idea; yet no i've never tried or even considered too much of the thought specifically.

But this video game i'm pretty entralled by; i think of the characters, scenes, and ect. frequently and then visualize myself among these characters. Visualize it all as of reality. Than i'm pretty sure it would work; all you've got to work on after that is hoping you're actually aware.

Yup, I started a thread on a similar method a little while back. Only thing is, I'm so sporadic in the methods I use (when I'm actually disciplined enough to stick to a method) that I don't have many experiences with it to share. Most of the dream/movie experiences I've had just end up in my journal with no reference to the method. It's not fool-proof, of course, but it does work.

Most of the movies I've been trying, I listen to while falling asleep, but I've also noticed that watching movies before falling asleep does work well also. Even without actually trying to induce the dreams, I once watched Doom and The Island before bed one night, for the first time, and had a single dream that incorporated themes from the two movies, seamlessly.
Now that I think of it, I've never tried actually doing reality checks through a movie that I intend on dreaming about, but that's a damn good idea, man.

U could use movies to try and induce. From my personal experience with using movies, the scarier or horrifying(Blood...etc) the easier like seeing it for once or twice to dream it. The peacefull ones will take much longer to dream it.
