Question about WILD
How long is WILD usually supposed to take? I've tried it quite a few times and either just fallen asleep accidentally or been unable to make it and given up because it was taking so long. I really only got to the part where your body feels heavy and every now and then I would feel a wave or tingliness come over me. I don't recall any hypnagogic images or sounds or anything that's usually described with WILD. I find it impossible to let my mind wander and still be aware of it so that I can enter a dream and fall asleep. Any time my thoughts do wander, though, I'll either unconsciously enter dreamstate (and thus fail), or the shock that I'm leting my mind wander will jolt me back to reality and I basically have to start over. Do you guys have any tips on how best to succeed with WILD? Do the feelings and sensations of WILD come on their own after you've laid there for a couple hours or do you have to nudge them on?

i recommend just trying to become more aware of the entire process from being awake to falling asleep. it's normal to either pay too much attention or too little attention, and stay awake or pass out. it's tricky to get exactly the right balance...but if you start noticing the hypnagogic imagery more easily (by watching yourself fall asleep) you may have more luck.

I suggest you try what mongre said first. If that doesn't help, try doing a Wild in a diferent position. On my first WILD attempt, I couldnt switch into the dream world. So when I didn't fall asleep,I changed positions and tried the WILD again and it worked. Remember that anything -ILD needs to be changed to fit the person using the technique. Hpe this helps. :D
