New Technique I Think Will Work

this is simple, thought of it yesterday. all you have to do is wear a ring on any finger, (since alot of people do this anyway). im wearing my class ring. Everytinme you feel the ring on your hand, or take notice of it in any way, you do a reality check. I do the Nose CR, cause its fast and easy. then you just wear the ring 24/7, and it should pass over into your dreams. but, yeah, ive definately RC'd more today then i have in the last 2 years of knowing about lucid dreaming. I think I'll call this Ring Induced Lucid Dreaming. I hope some of you guys try this out, id like some feedback on if it works or not, and drop some ideas for a name for this tech, too :D

Well it could work with multiple other objects... so a "RILD" wouldn't be a good name for it. Maybe an

Like "OILD" but then that's hard to pronounce....

yeah, that could work, but the ring is IDEAL becauses its on your hand, and you do alot of stuff with your hands, and its easy to notice.

But I don't get why you call this Induced lucid dreaming when it's simply a method to remind you of doing reality checks..

well, its not a RC, its a method of reminding you to do a reality check, which, if you do correctly, you will also do in your dream, so technicaly, its neither :D

I usually wear my class ring right now, but I have a huge blister on my finger right where my ring usually is, so no go on this one for a while

*i dont really think it is a inducing a lucid dream, it is simply just another RC reminder.

personally, it wouldn't work well for me. I never really notice that I am wearing my wedding ring. For me it has to be something that I normally dream about. I have never in my life dreamed about a ring, so I don't think that it would ever trigger a LD for me.

Mirrors are my best trigger so far. I don't do a RC when I see them in real life, I just really try to look at whatever I see in them. Whenever I see a mirror in a dream, I will analyze it thouroughly and it usually triggers a LD.

There is already something similar to your ring idea. I read a thread about it a few days ago. It is called RILD - Rock Induced Lucid Dream. You concentrate hard on the rock or it can be any object. I can't seem to find the thread. If I find it I'll post back.

yeah, but u pull out a rock, and people are like, wtf? every body has a ring, and if you wear it, you are likely to notice it, because you do a bunch of stuff with your hands during the day, see. Rings are easier

then you say shut up biotch its my uber powerful dream rock of uberness... then everyone bows before your uberleetness...

but hey if a ring (technically a ring is rock too unless its plastic which sucks anyways, so your method is the round shiny rock that fits on your finger induced lucid dream) works for you then it works for you, its not easier just because you say it is, everyone is different. I like rocks so im gonna use a rock...

The FAT technique is similar to this idea, however it involves closely concentrating on the object itself rather than using the object to induce RC's...

lately I've been trying to find some object that when I see/notice it I have to do a reality check
and I haven't been able to think if anything
and I have this one ring that I wear everysingle day
(my lucky ring:)) I wear it at night too
so this one works especially well for me!

Well, I've got an object now too.. a bandaid on my chin... I got shot their with an airsoft gun 3 feet away while playing a little ambush.

i think its a good idea ill try. but no offense it just like that thing were people would wear ribons on their fingers to remind them of stuff.like that but just played up.

Could people please use a little imagination when making up names for these little lucidity bids? How about Ring Caused Reality Checks, or RCRCs. Then you could say last night, I had a DILD by RCRC, possibly RC^2 or even RCx2, 2RC, who knows.
