help with dreamsign..
Hey guys,
I've been trying off and on (moreso on than off) to become lucid (willingly and on command) for a good portion of the year already and I recently bought Exploring the world of lucid dreaming. It's an amazing book. Anyway, I realized from dozens of dream journals that they all involve the dreamsign of situations.. like things in wierd context.. or i'm somewhere I havent been in 10 years with people I from my childhood.. those kind of random things. Do you guys have any tips for becoming lucid? I try to keep up with my reality checks but being as though i'm not in those types of situations in my waking life it's hard to do RC's in my dream. any thoughts?
thanks!

i say that you should look at your dream journal and look at the situations you thought were strange and try to recreate a simalar situation then do an rc and maybe you will do an rc in your dream because you will be used to doing them in strange situations

Are you using any techniques like MILD, WBTB, etc.? Not just tried them, but actually practice them. Maybe RCs just aren't your thing. They really only work for me when the dreamsign is something that can happen in real life. For example, I have a hard time dialing phones when I'm dreaming, so knowing this is a common dreamsign, I always do an RC when I have problems with a phone. And some people will see common things in their dreams such as characters, like someone you know in real-life. If that's the case, do an RC whenever you see that person. And so on.
But like I mentioned above, maybe RCs aren't for you. Everyone is different. Try all the different techniques listed in EWOLD and in the tutorials and see if you get any sort of response from any of them. If so, concentrate on that one and go from there. Most people have to tweak the techniques to work better for their lifestyle - nothing is "cookbook" with lucid dreaming (unfortunately).
So keep plugging away, and keep up the good work in your dream journal. Try not to get frustrated. Please keep us updated! Good luck.
