. How the Images form during WILDs? pplleeaassee come

Sorry I post so much guys :(
but... I have more questions

Although I know I'm too inexperienced for WILDs
I try anyways

So this mourning I tried it again
and I got a bit farther than last time...

I was still in the "seeing blobs" stage for a long time...
but... this time I felt my body get more comfortable but more tense
well you know, locked in place kind of
it was more resistant when I was trying to move my fingers

&& you know how you're supposed to see fleeting images after a while?
Well...
I was wondering if the beginning of these images
involves your little light blobs turning into shapes?
Because... I started to see bird shapes flying, and a person running, waves etc.
but I don't know if I was just making shapes out of blobs just like..
one would make shapes out of clouds?
or if this could've turned into the actual images?

Do WILDs get easier over time? (and quicker?)

That's been my experience. After a while the random lights turn into flashes of images. I get faces a lot and plenty of eyes. Give it a little more time and focus then short dream sequences will start. Time will fly at this point... That's as far as I've ever gotten, though. I always get dizzy and lose concentration.

Aah yes!
I do recall some eyes and a girl as well
but it is one of those things where it happens, and you're not quite sure if you imagined it or not

Lots of eyes. I thought I was just imagining them my self, and that they appeared way to much by chance.... I know I'm not crazy now. :-P

Anyways, yeah I think you are on the right track...but trust me...you have a long way to go before those fleeting images and shapes turn into an LD.

It's actually REALLY hard to describe a WILD to someone who has never experienced one. I thought I had an idea of what to expect going into my first successful one, but I couldn't even imagine.

I've had hundreds of WILDs...but most of them have been unintentional. I've only had a few intentional WILDs...but those are the ones where I've had the most beautiful, and stunning hypnogogic imagery. You lay there, and feel your body go numb. Just staring at the back of your eyes, letting yourself drift into thought but too far away as to not fall asleep. Then your body becomes so very light as you can barely feel it anymore. Your limbs feel like they are detached. You forget where your hands are resting and your mind plays tricks on you to make them seem displaced. You lay there longer...just waiting...letting yourself slip in and out of little scenarios.

This is where it gets tricky. Most people feel these sensations and get too excited and their minds become too alert and find it near impossible to get any further. Or other people will drift off and fall asleep. The KEY is to find that middle path, where you are following your mind, and the shapes...until they begin to form concrete things. And by this I'm not talking about simple forms and shapes that you can see in your mind...no...this is full on hallucinating. For instance...one time I WILDed I layed there for about 45 minutes until I lost all sense of my body and was drifting off with my mind. Suddenly, I was brought back to awareness of what I was doing when two Egyptian figures, sparking so golden, studded with jewels...appeared just like a dream. They kissed, and then swirled around each other in the most brightest realistic colors...it was intensely beautiful. Before I knew what happened...I was in a dream.

You have to lay there until you are not just seeing things in your mind...but actually...seeing them...with your eyes. Not just thinking it...but hallucinating it. Oh it's hard to desribe, and I haven't done it any justice. Good luck all the same.

Yeah. What Nina said. I've only had two WILDs, both of them deliberate, but, what Nina said is right.

When the images form, you'll KNOW. There's no bloody way you can possibly mistake it.

The first time it happened to me, was more sensations than images. My body transformed into a dog, then into a horse, then into a night on horseback... There were images as well, but everything was shifting...

The second time, however... wow oh freaking wow. My eyelids disappeared, and I could see into my room. The ceiling "shifted" into a starscape, with clouds obscuring some of the stars. It was like a ghostly, eerie night sky... stunningly beutiful. My bed shifted, with bedposts branching up, and the sky /roof shifted too... it was beautiful...

Even though both WILDs didn't last more than a minute or two, the actual lucid dream part, the transition, what nina describes... is something which, alone, makes all the effort worth it, in my opinion...

What you've got to do, is to not force the images to form, just let them. BUT, don't be so passive that you fall asleep... like nina said, it's a very fine line. I may have had only two successful WILDs, but, I've had maybe thirty to fifty failures. All of those times, I didn;t get the balance right... I either fell asleep, or was trying too hard. Eventually I'll get the hang of it, but, it might take a while, a long while. For you guys too... so, my advice, stick in there, and DONT be discouraged by failed attempts. It's all a process of trial and error, unfortunately, as with a lot of things in life.

Well when you enter the dream aren't you lightly sleeping?
I've failed a good amount of times, but you know, I always get up after an hour or so feeling great. Just like mediatating. I'd like to finally BE ABLE to do it, but at least I'm getting something out of the failures.

I agree that it can be disappointing after a failed WILD attempt but also very refreshing. It sort of is a bit like meditating.

And yes...you have to be "asleep" to enter a dream. Or at least, your body has to. But your mind can still be "awake". Once you get to the HI...I think the transition happens quite seemlessly because you are pretty much in a trance by then, and your mind just follows the HI into a dream. You are at a point in between total consciousness and dreaming. The hardest part is actually getting to the point where you can see the HI.

There is a point...where you gain control.

With some of my WILDs, I don't even have HI. I enter sleep paralysis with a loud buzzing in my head, and my whole body feels like it is vibrating. I know right away when I feel these sensations that I will be entering a LD shortly. I am in a trancelike state. Very similar to what happens when someone is put under hypnosis. At this point I can even open my eyes slightly if I like and look around my room, and close them again...as the dream forms around me.

If you get good enough...you can even get to the point where you enter a WILD...then come out of your lucid directly into SP...then wait through the vibrations, and the HI if it's there, and re-enter another LD. Sometimes I lay in bed and do this for a few hours...going in and out of LDs over and over again and have maybe 10-20 of them. I call them marathon lucid naps. ;) Though when I wake from them...my body is so absolutely exhausted that I can barely stand.

Maybe im thinking its something else. But i find it really easy for me to see images in my head while trying to fall asleep. What happens is i let my body relax and then i see for split seconds very vivid pictures. Sometimes i can hold them for a while. But then I drift off and go to sleep.

Is this somewhat like what you are talking about? If I am able to stay aware of the images?

Those are more likely...little bits of dream sequences beginning...or the beginning of HI. But if you were fully immersed in HI you would know the striking difference. It's...almost unexplainable.

It's interesting that I understand the technical aspect of what is happening, I understand the application, I understand why it happens, but I can't understand the feeling. I know that, "I'll know it when I feel it", but it's such a foreign concept of emotion and sensations. It's like you're sneaking into the subconscious and manipulating it. Fantastic.

I think that you're on your way. Try doing the same thing earlier in the afternoon or when your not planning to sleep. You may just be too tired stay conscious. Maybe initiate it with the WBTB method.
