Game Over Technique? Please elaborate, I've never heard of this before....
Hi,
This is the technique posted by Game Over (on this forum)
Ok...I know there's a tutorial now but I feel I need to explain the exact steps that I take because it almost never fails for me.
1:Go to sleep tired
2:Wake up 5 hours later
3:Write down your dreams that youve just had(Very helpfull!)
4:Stay awake for 60-90 minutes(90 reccomended) writing and reading in your dream journal, and doing a lot of reality checks, and staying focused on dreaming(focused but not stressing)
5:Go to sleep and(*) think about your last dream, or imagine walking around a dreamscape. Nowhere special, just walking around anywhere
6:keep thinking "I am dreaming" but don't stress yourself
Well, from my experience these steps, followed exactly, give me an almost 100% chance of having a lucid dream.
(*)you may try any method at this point but I have given the method that gives me the most success.
I haven't heard of this technique until now, but I will consider trying it some time. Possibly tomorrow night, as tonight I intend on attempting to WILD.
Nice Job Gameover!
I'm sorry to burst the bubble for Game Over, but I'm afraid his/her game is over. That technique is not really anything new at all. In fact there is already a name for that technique.
Wikipedia:
Wake-Back-To-Bed or WBTB
The wake-back-to-bed technique is often the easiest way to induce a lucid dream. The method involves going to sleep tired and waking up five hours later. Then, focusing all thoughts on lucid dreaming, staying awake for an hour and going back to sleep. The odds of having a lucid dream are then much higher. This is because the REM cycles get longer as the night goes on, and this technique takes advantage of the best REM cycle of the night. Because this REM cycle is longer and deeper, gaining lucidity during this time may result in a more vivid and lengthy lucid dream [14]. This may also offer an explanation as to why many people claim to have more memorable dreams in the early morning hours before they wake up for the day. However, the explanation that people may simply recall a dream more easily if they directly wake up from it has also been suggested.
So... good game Game Over.
I think he more accurately described the VILD technique, which is WBTB and then when you go back to bed you visualize your dream until you fall asleep.
LOL! I'm sure gameover would be happy to see this thread :D gameover is the one who wrote up the tutorial... which Lucid83 is sporting as well :P
It is actually from the Wake Back to Bed (WBTB) tutorial, which I used to get my first LD (combined with MILD or something like that).
This sounds like a great trechnique.. I'll go to bed and try this tonight.. LD's I hope....
Pretty funny that that technique has the same exact steps as Wake Back to Bed.
