A rather funny way of attaining lucidity!

Hi everyone!
After 1 month of researching how to do lucid dreams and developing dream recall, I finally had my 2nd lucid dream! Though it was a pretty low level lucid dream, as I was too scared to shout "INCREASE LUCIDITY NOW," in case I would wake up people.

Anyway, now for the part on HOW I DID IT.
I have been practising dream recall for 2 weeks now, as that seems to be the most important way in attaining lucidity for me.

Halfway through a dream, I was walking down my driveway when I told myself to remember my dreams that night (getting my subconsious to work). Suddenly, I said
"Wait a minute. Isn't this a dream?" It was obviously a dream to me, so I didn't bother doing reality checks.

So what I did was fuse me telling myself to remember my dreams with my dreams.

Hmm interresting, Merging with your subconcious and telling yourself to remember dreams upon awakening and recognise dreams while dreaming.

I haven't had any lucid dreams for a long time but IF I do have a LD one again night I'll use it to do somewhat the same that you did and enGRAVE lucid dreaming into my dreaming mind.

Yeah I'd figure that if you keep telling yourself that you want to attempt LDs when going to sleep, that should be a good enough trigger right there.

The moment I become lucid, I just know it's a dream and don't even have to bother doing other RCs just to be sure it is.

Sounds like a pretty smart idea, as it would work with your subconcsious, as dreams are of your subcanscious.

yeah exactly. I've been trying to figure out ways in waking life to influence my suconcious (dreaming)Mind. But the closest you get to really ''program'' Lucid Dreaming and Dream Recall in your subconcious mind is WHEN you are dreaming. I'm pretty sleepy now and I wanna try a new technique to gain lucidity...hmmz

Ok, I might try to fully explain what I think happened, though I may be wrong, as I am only just beggining to learn how to toy with the mind MWAHAHA. :evil:

Sorry, anyway, I suppose it is just like Reality Checks, because you are trying to engrave the idea into your mind to do a reality check.

Here is a little thing I like to call, RC vs ...whatever you call it.....

RC = Quality - High
Time - Medium
Engravedness - medium (sorry for the made up word :D )

What I did = Quality - Medium to High (edited after SKA's post)
Time - High
Engravedness - High

Why would the quality of your technique be lower than the quality of the RC-technique? You may think it's stupid ''fusing with yourself'' but I think it's briljant.
If it's Stupid, but it works, it ain't Stupid.
Your dreams, that is your domain. and thus the rules of Reality do not apply. YOUR rules apply, that is whatever you Imagine being possible Therefor IS possible.
If doing something, creating a scene or...really ANYTHING in a Lucid Dream seems impossible it is only cuz of your lack of belief in that it IS possible. EVERYTHING you can imagine IS possible. Black on white. No doubt about it.

So if you Imagine it's possible to Plant your entire DreamWorld full of, I.E. Signs that say YOU ARE DREAMING, which you would encounter everynight...well than it IS possible. And that would be really handy dandy for regaining lucidity everynight again and staying in the Lucid Mindset.
Perhaps you could symbolise a big red switch in your dreams, which you could shift up and down to increase and Decrease Lucidity. Either way some Specific Object to symbolise Lucidity inbedded in your dreams would be most Interresting.

You're right SKA. Thanks. I have edited my post now, as It really does come down to believing. Believeing you can lucid dream, believing you are dreaming, believing you can do whatever you want in that dream. It all fits together.
