Throughout my life I have always woken up "halfway" and done things while I was out of bed. Its kinda hard to explain, but lets just say that I'll wake up, think I'm with somebody, and end up realizing that no ones there. Also things like I was on the floor in my room (eyes open), but I still was dreaming. One more example is when I was trying to get to the bathroom, but I was dreaming about being stuck behind a wall. I finnaly realized I was in my room. I could go on and on with things like this, but I hope you get the idea.
Does anyone think that this could be used as an advantage?
I also sleep walk and sleep talk, almost every night I've heard. Is there any advantages to this either?
Just wondering.
p.s. I'd like to know if anyone else experiences this.
BTW- I get this between 5-10 times a month.

Yeah Some people, myself included, wake up very slowly. And even while awake and eyes opened they have not fully returnedfrom the Dream yet. And so it happens that Dream Hallucinations (be it feeling someone's presence, still feeling you have a ''task'' to do like the one in your last dream..etc) occur while awake with eyes wide open.
Sometimes during the day, mostly after having just awoken from a dream, I find myself ''Looking without seeing''. Its like my Mind is still wandering so much that my Imaginairy Vision becomes STRONGER than my Physical Vision and it actually makes my Physical Vision fade away completely to be replaced with Imaginairy Vision.
It comes down to this: I don't see that towards which my Physical eyes are directed. Instead I see what is on my Mind: a sort of hazy very immersive daydream.
Hellzyeah you can use this to your advantage: when you just awoke and find yourself in such a state, you could take some time to become clearminded and lucid, and try and re-enter a dream from that state Conciously. You'll have to experiment with that. I think I will too.

Wow! I have also experienced the same thing with my eyes open, but yet I'm still dreaming. I was on my bed with my girlfriend and I fell asleep. She woke me up asking me "what's wrong", because I woke up and started staring off. But at the same time I remembered my dream really well, so I didn't wake up when my eyes were open.
I will try to do the same, but when it happens I usually am so out of it I can sit there and be dreaming for hours staring at my bed.
It seems you could actually use this to a big advantage, if you can realize your doing it.

Pyrox, that sounds kinda dangerous
I mean, 3 months ago I used to sleepwalk a few times a week, but once a day... what if you are stuck in a very bright light, so you decide to turn the light off, but instead (in reality) you put your hand in your dog's mouth (It is a pit bull terrier), and the dog eats you, then finds the taste so great that it eats the rest of the world, and then itself? Never thought about that, did yuou? HMMM?
Anyway, yeah, SKA is right, just learn to recognize when you are in this state, and then try to enter the dream again... though don't do anything wild like jumping off a cliff, cos that might just be your bedroom window...
