from what i understand, MOST dreams occur in familiar settings, like dreaming about going to work or school. Now the trick with DILD is to REALIZE that you are dreaming, which can be difficult because almost everything you see in a dream you just accept (once i was dreaming i was in jamaica and i saw a penguin, and actually told myself that penguins live there).
So the tip is to notice EVERYTHING during the day. When you are driving, look at every street sign and intersecting streets. When you are in your room, notice every detail, such as lamps, sheets and covers, doors, etc.
Hopefully, after a while, you will train your brain to notice small details, increasing your chances of discovering an inconsistency in a dream. After all, most dreams are in familiar surroundings.
Just a thought for those who cant WILD or MILD.

I do this by putting a blank buisness card on my dashboard with C|RT on it. I see it and I check reality (look at things, focus on what I'm doing, where I am, and so on). This works well, because you usually won't do a RC unless you're not doing something which takes concentration, work, school, driving, talking, ect.
