It has got something to do with concentrating on an intention, for example having a lucid dream. I tried it and I don't really know, but it seemed to "work", a bit anyway. Last night I kept repeating to myself:"I will wake up in a dream and I'll be aware that I'm dreaming". And that night I woke up in bed, scratched my head (the light was somehow on), and then I looked at my finger, I saw 2 short hairs ( :P ) dancing on it. I said to myself, this can't be reall I am dreaming... Then all I know that I was very very tired, ignored the 2 dancing hairs and fell back to sleep. Looks like a FA to me. I really don't consider myself an expert on autosuggestioning, but how do you do it? So maby I can try and give you tips.
Heya.
There's a tutorial on Hypnosis Induced Lucid Dreaming here:

(Auto-suggestion and self-hypnosis are the same thing, I believe?)
I've been trying variations of this - its a lot of work if you do it often, but it does work!
There's also a useful way to short-cut the lengthy process of reaching Deep Level Relaxtion, posted by the late Leo Volont. This also works (well, it has for me), and you can find it here:

:)
thx
Motivation also is a huge part of autosuggestion. If you do autosuggestion, but you really don't care about lucid dreaming, it will probably not work. If you really want a lucid dream or you really want to beat your cousin who's having extremely vivid and lucid dreams, then you will almost definately get something our of autosuggestion.
