well this method comes form the fact that people who are so called picture are the most likely to lucid dream. now scientific research has shown that eeg in brain activity shift dramatically and that language part of your brain switch of when unconscious or sleeping. now the part of the brain left normal are the back visual region of your brain that increase in activity this create the dream. if one get full command of visual region of brain then theortically then they can get full control of their dreams.
now this method of going lucid can be easily explained by what to do and not to do
first let see what you have to not do
.use verbal thought, see your verbal thought inhibits your dream because you would heavily relie on this which changes during sleep.
.imagine one thing, you need multiple object to focus apon when going to sleep this would not let you get over rided by HI.
.bizarre and weak imagination would seem to be good but they are not it better to imagine the famillar very strongly also make sure it bright.
second what to do
.picture a famillar location that is bright and walk around it focusing on main part of building and imagining very hard.
.their should be no sense of movement or body trying to imagine so is counterproductive because it stimulate part of brain that need to be shut of to sleep.
.you could use music if it non verbal but if you do make sure it gentle and quite.
.control your environment this is important you would have to be able to move, change and vanish object and location this is improtant you have to continue changing surrounding in a regular fasion like every five minuate by imaging new location and obeject.
the purpose of this is to have your visual intelligence perfectly intact intill your in the dream world. i like to think of this a surrealist painting yourself into dream where you use famillar idea to make the painting jump out into reality. also your train of thought is the most important thing in this technique you still have to imagine stuff vividly but if you can easily jump to one scene to the next and keep a thread of consciousness then your easily be able to do this. one of the most important thing is where to imagine it now the first natural place you can visualize something is where you imagine stuff you dont try to move it in front of you or something like that.
