Hi there.
Sorry for another WILDing post, but hey, whats this forum for?
I have read pretty much all the WILD guides, guide to end all guides, Reverse blinking,
blade5x's, wikipedia, ld4all, FILD, etc.
I just have a simple problem: Nothing Happens.
I've tried all the WILD techniques i've found, and no results. All that happens
is I fall asleep, or count, be aware, breathe, etc until I get bored (usually an hour) and go to sleep.
Never felt any heaviness, lightness, warmness, fuzziness or anything to indicate onset of SP.
Any ideas? Is it the balance of my attention? Too much= stay awake, too little= fall asleep?
Ive tried maybe 30-40 times or so, but still no results.
Well i'd appreciate any help, as I really want an LD (ive taken breaks from attempting) but
it seems i'm making no progress.
Thanks!

let me guess you are following those guides EXACTLY right? well we all wish that wilds were that easy, but everyone one is different we all need different wild techniques. try these techniques if they dont work, then revise the technique a bit. maybe change the time you wake up, take some caffine, sleeping on your side, or back, or stomach. Try zoneing out a little more or less. Stuff like that. Hope you get one soon! good luck :)

This is my two cents: In my (limited) experience, the harder you try, the less success you'll have. I know that's kind of paradoxical, but, it's how it works - for me at least.
You need to be more casual about your attempts. Don't be so focussed on them. Make an attempot every week or so, wake up in the middle of the night and try it. Be relaxed about it and not focussed, and, you'll have a much higher chance of success. In my opinion.

Wow prompt replies! Thanks for the advice!
Yes I do WBTB. 4-5 hours usually. Well although it's kinda annoying
how it doesn't work, how long and how many times I've tried an LD
makes me not very excited/focused while attempting anymore.
Alright I'll try tweaking out a method, maybe even try my own!
Hope it works!

I made my own method of WILDing before i even knew what lucid dreaming was. One night i just happened to fall into sleep paralysis, and i experimented with it the next day. I found these forums now and i've also found that the guides here only impede my progress. I can WILD in around 1.2 hours, which is a long time, but i can do it for 100% every time. Point is, the guides here arent custom tailiered to the stress or anxiety in every person's life.

Hmm, I've had success (the one time I tried) with Pyrofan1's simple adaptation of WBTB. Maybe you should try that or MILD first. If you really want to tackle WILD, I recommend purchasing the paperback edition of EWLD off Amazon or borrowing it from your local library if available (but I have yet to have a successful WILD myself). You might also try letting the relaxation phase of the WILD take its course before forcing yourself to concentrate on the WILD. Good luck!

I tried WILDing a few times before, but I am now to busy to do it, so...
I've never personally WILDed.
I would reccomend relaxing and not thinking about lucid dreaming. Just unconsciously relax as much as possible. If you find that you are tense, don't think things like "Come on, relax already!". This will only ruin your WILD. You need to keep trying, and use multiple techniques. I think experiencing the FILD technique will help you in WILDing.

Well still no go. I suppose I am letting myself get carried away in the HI.
After I start seeing it I go unconscious, or I concentrate on it and it vanishes.
Does anyone have any tips on how to focus on, yet not destroy the HI? I'm pretty sure this is my problem.
How do you go from HI to SP? Do you try and make the HI more
real, or let it change itself, or imagine scenes yourself?

LOL I just took a nap after the previous post, and after a while of counting,
visualizing and some other stuff like that, my mind cleared a bit, then all of
a sudden the ringing noise in my ears gets louder, and a tingly sensation
combined with a bit of heaviness comes somehow originating from my ears. The feeling spread a tad, and it felt sort of like being on one of those big drop rides or loss of blood to the head. My breathing got shallow, my heart started beating like nothing else, and I had lots of rapid twitches.
From what I've read this is the onset of SP!
Contrary to my speculations, very little HI was involved!
Trouble is, after this started, I didn't really know what to do, and
concentrated on the feeling, but it started to fade. Afterwards, I
felt like I just was running all out, felt out of breath and needed to swallow
hard. After a while I calmed down and repeated this, and each time I kept
"Bouncing" back out of the feeling. I did this maybe 5 times more, but it
got less intense each time. But it also felt that I could kind of "initiate"
these feeling by just concentrating on the ringing in my ears and wanting
it to get louder.
So, how do you let the feeling envelope into full SP? I tried concentrating
on the feeling, concentrating on HI, and some other stuff but couldn't quite
get the hang of it. What works for you?
THANKS!
