So I woke up at around 7 this morning, then shut my eyes to try and lucid dream. Next thing I know, Im standing up in a dream with 2 people looking at me. I tell them Im about to perform a reality check then I attempt to push my finger through my hand. It didn't go through!
Damn damn damn. I've had more success with just jumping up and seeing if I could fly. So maybe I'll try sticking to that.
Any tips?
when i try an RC if i think im dreamiong, i like to try a couple of different ones.
Hi, RCs are unstable..sometimes it works sometimes it dosen't. I had an LD 2 weeks ago where I used the watch RC. It was an analog type with the hands it worked the first time but it din't work the second time during the false awakening in the same dream. It also has to do with Ur expectations of the outcome when U do RCs like if U do the finger RCs during the day U should expect it to go through.Quote:

Unless you have schizophrenia, there shouldn't be any need for a reality check if you think you're dreaming. RCs are mainly effective when used in critical state testing as an LD induction mechanism (i.e. repeating RCs throughout your daily activity) or to test for false awakenings. If you ever suspect that you are dreaming (assuming you are not in bed or on the verge of falling asleep), just tell yourself that you must be.Quote:

For me I use the hand technique because I more of a visual person and then back it up with a breath through the nose RC. The digital watch RC is probably my favourite but at the moment don't have one, so need to buy a new one soon. And also of course don't forget the main part of your RC- asking the question, because I have done RC's without asking the question "is this a dream". --> I looked at my hands and saw I had an extra demented small finger, which I just went and showed someone, but I didn't even ask/question anything.
