i am knda lazy to find this out, and pretty much all i am thinking about is VILD, but what techniques can i do that do not require an alarm. what i mean is what techniques can i do before going to sleep that work. also, how can LD be the last thing i think about and an RC the last thing i do if i have to lay still and just let my thoughts pass to fall asleep. if i let my thoughts pass, i wont be thinking about LD, even if those thoughts i am not thinking myself, but rather they are just passing through my head? i mean i cant stop that. and about the RC being the last thing i do, how can i do that, coz i gotta lay still and do nothing to fall asleep, so i am doing something after the RC- laying still, waiting to fall asleep.

No technique really requires an alarm.
Your body awakens after dreams in the night, and you can do the techniques you want then with no alarm.
But if you don't want that, I do DILD almost every two nights for two lucids, with no alarm set up, since you really don't need one at all for DILD.
That's just my two cents.

ohm, so what you are saying is all i have to do is MILD, or at least the part where you tell yourself to wake up after every dream and go from here?
but can somebody answer my other question? coz that has made me wonder for a long time.

you can think about whatever you want when you go to sleep despite common belief its the best way to go asleep, lay back close your eyes, don't move and think about whatever you want.

what about LD being the last thing i think about?

I think you misinterpreted my last post (I'm guessing thats why your asking this question)
All I meant was that if (after you lay down to sleep) you suddenly think "whoa, could I be dreaming right now?" you should do a reality check.
You don't necessarily have to do reality checks over and over after you get into bed.

but how do i make a thought that i think manually not the ones that are automatic, last? like for VILD, or just havin LD the last thing i think about? coz everywhere it says that it has to be the last thought, or at least that makes your chances of LD sky-high.
