Preface:I was just mentioning in a post that I knew that IRL I was really thirsty and wanted a drink and it was making me crazy, but I didn't want to wake from my LD. Stupidly, I decided to reach up for my water bottle IRL and of course woke right up. Someone suggested drinking in my dream to quench my thirst rather than trying to move IRL. I thought this was a neat way to "bypass" that feeling. So, I'd love to hear different examples of ways that you've learned to "bypass" any obstacles like that. Here are my lists of examples:
(Obviously) Thirsty IRL = drink water in dream
Can't run fast = have a DC grab you and pull you along
Unable to close your eyes and have scenery change properly = enter a door or elevator

I had my first LD last night, and when it started to fade, i did the nose RC again, and the clarity came right back. (IT WAS AMAZINGLY AWESOME!)

Congratulations to that! :) And thanks for the tip. :)

I have used the "hand rub" technique on multiple occasions. When I feel myself waking up from the dream I rub my dream hands together until I am stable again. I think this helps because I believe it will. I tell myself that rubbing my hands together will keep me in the dream and it does. I have actually ran around in a lucid dream for what felt like several minutes just rubbing my hands together so I wouldn't wake up : ) I'm sure you have heard of this technique before, but if not, I hope it is what you were looking for.
Also, once I become lucid and I am still seeing the fuzzy dream scenery I just say out loud in my dream to "Increase Lucidity" or "Increase Vividness" several times and it works wonders. Most of the time it makes things crystal clear.

Ooh I love telling yourself to "increase lucidity". :) It reminds me of using the remote control to fix the TV picture. :)
